COURSE DESCRIPTION
A two-week language immersion course designed so students will achieve a conversational level of Spanish and an appreciation of Costa Rican culture. Students will experience different aspects of this country through adventure activities, attending language school in Orosi, and volunteer projects in neighboring communities.

COURSE OBJECTIVES
- Students will be able to use basic grammatical structures
- Students will be able to communicate basic needs
- Students will be exposed to different aspects of Costa Rican culture through home stays, museum visits, cultural outings and general lectures
- Students will be able to improve their listening, reading, writing and speaking skills

- Verb Estar
- Verbs of Necessity (Necesitar, Deber, Querer, Poder, Desear)
- Verbs of Necessity + infitinive
- Simple Conjugations
- Tener que + verb; Hay que + verb
- Tener Expressions
- Ir + a + Infinitive (future)
- Interrogative phrases - Who, what, when, where
- Ser and Estar (Basic uses)
- Present tense conjugation of basic verbs
- Regular verbs
- Verbs with vowel changes: diphthong
- Irregular verbs
- Pronouns and possessive Adjectives
- Time
- Using the present tense to express the future
