It's what you return home with that really counts.

A lot of incredible stuff happens while you’re having fun on a Broadreach program. You’ll build lifelong friendships, for a start. And, come home with some of the best stories of your life. But what makes Broadreach really special are the things you’ll learn and the changes you’ll see in yourself. Whether you choose a program that offers college credit or one where you earn scuba and sailing certifications, you’ll gain valuable skills and knowledge that will open the door to future opportunities for global exploration, academic pursuits or even a career path. You’ll develop confidence in your abilities and a desire to push yourself further. And you’ll understand more about the world around you and be inspired to make your place in it.

Our Six Guiding Principles

Will you have fun? Absolutely! Perhaps the most fun you’ve ever had. But Broadreach is about more than just fun and adventure. Every program is built around a core set of principles that reflect our passion for helping students find their place in the world.

Broadreach Guiding Principles

Central to each course are your achievements. Continuous hands-on experience with our professional instructors helps you accumulate college credits, recognized international certifications and community service hours while exploring the world. Arrive home with a whole new set of skills and credentials that mark your accomplishments.

At Broadreach, our educational approach is one where we fully immerse you in the experience — going way beyond the textbook or the Internet. Our students take a unique and hands-on role, working alongside professional educators and researchers out in the field. Witness your individual passions come to life outside the classroom.

Take charge of your adventure. We equip you with the skills, experience and readiness you need to set goals and meet them, bring people together and make decisions with greater confidence. Inspire others to action. Guide discussions and debate. Execute a plan. Be empowered to chart your own course in the world.

As you explore the vastness and beauty of our planet, you have the opportunity to witness the global issues and developmental pressures we face firsthand. From the front lines of the climate debate to rapidly changing ecosystems above and below water, your Broadreach experience is likely to inspire a lifelong responsibility to protect and preserve the world around you.

Engage with the communities you visit. Participate in meaningful service projects at the local level such as reforestation and conservation projects, community building and more. The kind of global citizenship we encourage is about being aware of real-world challenges, then taking initiative to make a difference and bring about positive change.

Be part of a cohesive team, where everyone is challenged to rise above themselves as individuals and work together for the greater good of the group. From charting a course on a sailing odyssey to collaborating on field research projects to just having each other’s backs, working as a team allows you to accomplish more than you ever could on your own.

Broadreach Founders Message

Founder’s Message

For over twenty six years, Broadreach has taken students on life-changing learning adventures all over the world. In those years, I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about what makes a journey and what makes it different from just an ordinary trip or vacation.

In my mind, the most important distinction is that you come away with much more than just photos, souvenirs and amazing memories. You face real and exciting challenges and learn things that shape who you’ll become and where you’ll go in the years to come.

I’ve always envisioned Broadreach as something much larger than a single program or summer adventure. To me, it’s a journey that will introduce you to the endless opportunities that exist in the world, encourage your passions and goals to come forward, create lifelong bonds of friendship and develop skills and knowledge that become stepping stones towards your future accomplishments.

When you look through our website and read about the different programs we offer, try to picture your path in life. What does it look like? Where will it lead you? Do you have dreams of becoming a marine biologist, veterinarian or doctor? Would you like to see how far you can take your scuba, sailing or photography skills? Is there a particular language, culture or place you want to connect with?

Maybe this summer will be the start of a new path, one that builds over more Broadreach summers to come. Or maybe you’ve been with us before and are ready for the next level of learning and adventure.

Here’s to your great journey, wherever it may lead.

Why Broadreach Diversity & Inclusion

diversity & inclusion

Broadreach is committed to fostering a culture of diversity and inclusion. We strive to create a positive and welcoming community where all can learn and grow. The collective sum of the individual differences, life experiences, knowledge, self-expression, unique capabilities and talent of our students, staff and employees represents a significant part of our culture and meaningfully contributes to the overall success of both our programs and organization as a whole.

We welcome and celebrate differences in age, ethnicity, gender identity and expression, national origin, race, religion, sexual orientation, socio-economic status and other characteristics that help broaden our perspectives and understanding of the world around us. Through travel and global citizenship, we engage with diversity and embrace the differences among us. It is our aim, therefore, that all our employees, staff, students, partners and key stakeholders reflect and embrace these values.
