Junior Caribbean Dive Instructor

Junior Caribbean Dive Instructors work alongside a dive instructor and skipper to learn how to successfully lead a program and gain experience teaching diving.

Junior Caribbean Dive Instructors work with program leaders to help supervise students 24/7, facilitate group dynamics, assist students with cooking and cleaning duties, support sail training and other program activities. Programs range from 12 to 24 days and can be mentally and physically challenging for students and instructors which makes maintaining a positive attitude essential. Programs are limited to 12 students and led by a team of three instructors.

Flexibility, teamwork, the ability to multi-task, and provide a fun, positive and cohesive community are all important requirements. Contract length varies from two to three months starting in late May through mid-August.


  • PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor certification with active teaching status.
  • Experience working as a dive guide preferred.
  • Previous experience working with teens or young adults, preferably in a camp or 24/7 setting.
  • Passion for mentoring and motivating students and fostering cultural understanding.
  • Experience facilitating a group and understanding group dynamics and conflict resolution concepts.
  • Demonstrated success working on diverse teams with a collaborative mindset.
  • Wilderness First Responder (WFR) certified or willingness to obtain certification before summer.
  • Physically fit to actively participate and encourage students throughout program duration.
  • Great communication skills and a professional demeanor.
  • Specialty teaching certifications or willingness to obtain some of the following: underwater naturalist, boat diver, AWARE-coral reef conservation, AWARE-fish identification, night diver, wreck diver, and deep diver.
  • Able to attend staff training in St. Martin in early June.
  • Open availability from late May to mid-August strongly preferred.
