Costa Rica Dolphin & Ecology 12-Day Adventure

Olivia Sackler from Mount Kisco, NY
I learned so much more than I thought I would. This way of learning was engaging, so interesting, and everyone loved it. I've grown in so many ways and experienced things I've never experienced, even after going on so many of these trips. It's great for both experienced and inexperienced people. You do so many different activities, will NEVER be bored and get so close to amazing people so fast. I have nothing to complain about!
Faith E from Yardville, NJ
This trip was life changing! I learned a great deal of information, met amazing people, and had a once in a lifetime adventure. We didn't just fly to another country, but we practically lived in another country. Broadreach is a wonderful program that allows young teens like myself to get a glimpse of the real world and all of the wonderful things that are open to us. Thank you Broadreach for putting together a safe, informational, and unforgettable trip that I will be talking about for the rest of my life!
Angelica Grossbart from Cincinnati, OH
Broadreach is great. Even if you are shy, this is your opportunity to be a new person and whoever you want. We grow together.
Kimberly Murstein from New York, NY
I had a great time on this trip. Originally, I figured it would fly by fast and I would get to do a bunch of cool things, but it was much more than that. I met genuinely nice people and we got along right away. I also had experiences with wildlife that I'll never get again in life. We got to hold turtles, lizards and frogs. I learned so much through all the lessons as well. I really believe I've improved as a person.
Christian Megherby from New Canaan, CT
It was great and it gave me opportunities that I couldn't have gotten on any other program. Perfect balance of fun and structure

Costa Rica Veterinary Experience

Meghan Borum (age 17) from Gainesville, FL
This trip was the best thing that has ever happened to me! Words cannot express how much this trip meant to me. For starters, I never traveled much, but always dreamed of doing so. Also, I have never really been away from my parents longer than two weeks, let along go to another country without them. But Broadreach made sure everything was perfect, weather it was with reassuring or through communication. The trip itself, is nothing you can prepare yourself for, in the best possible way! You learn so much about being a vet and even yourself that you never want to leave. You make friends for a lifetime, and confirm your dreams of becoming vet more than you thought possible. You never dread lectures because you learn so much. I still cannot decide whether I loved the lectures or the activities (like white water rafting and ziplining in the rainforest) more! Thank you Broadreach for the best experience of my life and I cannot wait until next summer!
Aubrey Earnest
Broadreach has a strong cultural and educational grasp on what summer immersion should be. I was able to pursue my interests in veterinary medicine with them in Bali last summer and now this year in Costa Rica. I received college credits, learned a lot and had a blast with many like-minded individuals of my age. My twin sister even participated in their advanced scuba programs this summer, too. I highly recommend these programs to other adventurous individuals out there like myself.
Madison McCue
This trip provides an environment where you can explore, adapt, learn and grow with every experience. You are exposed to different views, ethics and beliefs culturally and medically in the vet community. Instructors ensure you are prepared in the field and always feeling comfortable, healthy and happy. This trip is an experience you will never forget, giving you hands on experiences in a field you are passionate about. It is a dream come true.
Melissa Sheffer
I would not trade my time in Costa Rica for anything. The amount of hands-on experience I was able to achieve was absolutely incredible and unmatched by anything I can currently do in the US. No matter how many exciting adventures I crossed off my bucket list thanks to my time in Costa Rica, I was still amazed more than anything at the ability to preform surgeries, administer vaccines, and work directly with marmosets and dogs.
Jenna Essner
This trip provided a great mix between working with live stock, pets and wild animals and helped us simultaneously explore a new culture! Many of us felt so at home we didn't want to leave! It really helped me break out of my shell, I highly recommend this to people who need that push to break out of their comfort zone.
Testimonial - Ally H. from Seattle, WA
This trip was awesome! The balance between fun activities (white water rafting) and academic ones was perfect. We went to several wildlife centers and were given the chance to work with animals we might not have seen in other countries. Our trip leaders (Ashley and Travis) were really cool and friendly and always on top of things. I loved this trip and I'm glad Broadreach gave me the opportunity to go to so many interesting places within Costa Rica.
Testimonial - Lauren H. from Carmel, IN
This trip in general has been a chance of a lifetime. Everyday is packed with new and exciting activities. Getting to record data and be very hands on was amazing. Then going to a refuge center filled with many different animals was exciting. We got the chance to do physical exams of coatis, anteaters and owls. At the center we also got to help release many animals.
Kiara Mercado from Miramar, FL
This trip has been a great experience and has solidified the dream of me becoming a vet. I learned so much about bovine, equine and wildlife medicine. My favorite thing I did was assist in a spay on a cat, which was an amazing learning experience.
Rylee Lisieski from Avon, NY
Broadreach was so interactive and I feel a deeper love for the field of veterinary medicine. I learned a lot and feel like I have grown so much. It took a lot of courage to go to an unfamiliar place and meet new people. Broadreach helped me push my own boundaries academically and personally. I feel like I have become a better version of myself through Broadreach and I am so grateful.
Summer O. from Seattle, WA
I had an amazing experience in Costa Rica. One thing I loved from the trip was working with such a wide variety of animals, from dogs to sloths, and from kinkajous to cattle. This trip has inspired me to treat every day as a new adventure and has made me realize what opportunities lie ahead in the future. Veterinary medicine is a field that I am passionate about and I'm so happy that I could have this amazing experience with other people who share this love for animals. Pura Vida!
Testimonial - Daniela H. from North Miami Beach, FL
I feel like I have been to every corner of Costa Rica. I experienced all the different sides of the country while on this trip. We learned about the wildlife and the domestic animals here, we basically did it all. My favorite activities were the ones with animals. Each experience was so unique and amazing, I don't think I'll ever find anything like this trip. It is a once in a lifetime experience and it helped solidify that I want to be a vet.
Testimonial - Emma B. from Woodland Hills, CA
This whole experience was amazing! I especially enjoyed staying at the Blue Banyan Inn because the days were packed with activity while still allowing enough rest time. I liked how non academic activities were blended in as well such as white water rafting and zip lining. I really liked doing a lot of hands on work. This trip is and will always be memorable. It helps strengthen that I what I want to do in the future.

Bahamas Veterinary Medicine 12-Day Adventure

Izzy Mattioli (age 16) from Redwood City, CA
The Bahamas Vet Program was truly the most amazing time of my life. I know everyone reads reviews for this sort of thing and they think “meh, okay it looks cool” but this program truly is so incredible! The hands-on experience you get here is incomparable. I can’t stress enough how this program changed my life. It taught me so much about vet medicine while still being fun and adventurous. I made some new best friends and I will never forget this trip. I can’t recommend it enough!

Mediterranean Sea Turtle & Dolphin Studies

Testimonial - Linda Haghi
My daughter loved the Sea Turtles Studies trip. She bonded with the kids and counselors so much that she called them her second family. She loved the activities and loved studying the sea turtles. She returned even more mature and confident and determined to pursue her love of field biology and continue traveling internationally. Broadreach was outstanding in their communication and organization. They are obviously great at hiring, too, because the trip leaders were really great. I was never worried about her safety. This trip was perfect for my daughter because she has been so ready to travel and pursue field biology. It gave her the experience and confidence she'll need to pursue her dreams. As soon as she came home, she started looking for a job so that she can go on another Broadreach trip in the future.
Maya Geer
To see the world, experience life and draw closer helps you find purpose and reason. This trip reminded me to slow down and find beauty in my world - which, with the rush and competitiveness of my life at home, is something I often do not do, and I am slowly falling back in love with life. We often forget how good our bodies and minds are supposed to feel and how much we can and should think. Although I do not know where I am headed, I have learned what to remember to do on my journey there.
Testimonial - Emma Cannon
It was the most amazing experience of my life. In the beginning I was afraid because I didn't know anyone, but everyone in the group acted like they knew each other for years within five minutes of meeting everyone.
Testimonial - Barbara Wynn from East Grand Rapids, MI
Micah came back more focused, with increased self confidence, willingness to be a team player, and a new appreciation for the world of others as well as his own.
Hanna Fuster from San Diego, CA
This trip was truly a life changing experience! The immersion into a whole new culture and world while learning so extensively about the sea turtle species gave me new perspectives that I will continue to use throughout all paths of my life. I made amazing friends out of the strangers I met at the beginning of this journey, and I will continue to keep in touch and appreciate these bonds long after we say our goodbyes.
Mark De Vito
My son said this was one of the most amazing experience of his life and he has been fortunate enought to experience many things. He felt that it was very well organized, safe and continuiously eye opening from assisting children to experiencing animal life. Before he left for the trip, I was a little concerned about the safety; however, we were updated every step of the way and I would suggest this program to anyone. He made life friends, was able to experience different cultures and actually hear first hand how people live day to day. The staff were amazing from the first phone call to set up the trip, travel, daily updates and and pictures.
Testimonial - Katie Kaplan
Catching eggs was a memorable experience for me. I learned how endangered they were and how low chances of survival are so each egg felt like a very small important life.
Testimonial - Leila Haghi
Everyone on this trip was amazing and all the experiences we had were life changing. This has been the best trip of my life.
Testimonial - Margo Ward from Lake Forest, IL
This trip was an epic quest of nature conservation and friends who share the same interests as you.
Testimonial - Sarah Dewitt Feldman from Burnsville, NC
I really liked being led on this trip by Laura and Nathalie. They were really aware of our needs as individuals and as a group. When I had a rough day, they took really good care of me.
Greg Harned
My daughter had a great time on this trip. It was an excellent growth experience for her! I am very satisfied with the program and the way it is managed.

Ecuador & Galápagos Biodiversity

Testimonial - Connor C. from Laguna Beach, CA
This trip has turned out to be informative yet fun. The instructors on this trip balanced fun with academics to the point where each complemented each other. The academic aspect allowed us, as students, to apply what we learn to the environment around us by creating an immersive experience. All in all, Broadreach has found the formula to making learning stick with young adults, and I highly reccommend Broadreach to anyone wanting to have a fun time or experience different walks of life.
Juliana Brandt from Corona del Mar, CA
Broadreach helped me find a new group of friends I would have never met any other way. Our trip ended about a year ago and the eight of us still talk on Facetime, text everyday, and have visited each other across the country. We continue to encourage one another, give advice, and catch up on what's new in our lives. Along with the amazing group, this experience helped me find what I really love to study and how to apply it to the real world. I cannot express how important this trip was to me and how much it has helped me grow. I really encourage anyone thinking about going on a trip to try it. You never know how it will change you, and how much you will learn. I'm writing this based on my experience and because I love what I did. It pushed me past my comfort zone. Thank you Broadreach for an amazing adventure.
Emily W. from Raleigh, NC
I absolutely loved my trip. My favorite place that we went was probably the Galapagos. We saw things that I never could have imagined seeing, like whales, sharks, baby sea lions, and more. I learned a lot about Ecuador's ecosystems, but also about myself and my own strengths. This experience was so worthwhile and honestly changed my perspective on the world around us.
Laurel Huntley from Wichita, KS
It was one of the most memorable things of my life. I met wonderful people, I experienced life changing things, I went places few people have been before. Trekking through mud, swimming in the river, snorkeling with sea lions, getting bruises from the tumbles, and a little banged up but having the absolute time of your life. It is amazing. Truly amazing.
Sarah F. from Raleigh, NC
Basically, if you are deciding whether or not to go on a trip: Do it! Take me, I was the youngest, smallest, and most anxious person on mine, and by the end I fell in love with everyone and we were all a large family. It sounds cliché, but it's true. Go on a Broadreach trip!
Olivia S. from Seven Lakes, NC
Visiting Ecuador through Broadreach has taken me to areas I would never have sought out before. I would not have persevered alone through an hour long hike up a mountain. Without my group or instructors I would not have managed to climb a waterfall or swim in open ocean water with sharks.

Bali Veterinary Medicine

Amelie Chartrand from Quebec, Canada
If you have any doubts whatsoever about doing this trip, erase them completely. This trip is one of those one of a kind experiences that you thank yourself for doing years later. It definitely opens your eyes to different cultures and ways of life in the world. To say this experience was worthwhile is a huge understatement.
Mary McArthur from Winter Park, FL
The trip has strengthened my desire to be a vet. I now feel like I have a stronger sense of my path in life. I would suggest this trip to anyone interested in veterinary medicine, but also people interested in conservation, animals in general, marine biology and a whole lot of other interests. This trip not only gives us a hands on experience with veterinary medicine but also a deeper look at many problems that face our world today.
Jillian J. from Brooklyn, NY
This trip far exceeds any expectation it gives you in the overview! I learned so much from the lessons and lectures, but I also had the opportunity to learn, just by walking down the street. The best part about the trip is you learn about an animal on paper first, then witness treatment and hands on activity in person.
Madeline Forgey from Cardiff, CA
This trip totally exceeded all expectations I had. I am going home with so much new knowledge about not only veterinary medicine, but also wildlife and habitat conservation, animal welfare and a new perspective on what I want to do in my future. I would highly recommend this trip for anyone who loves animals, adventure and exploring new places.
Roya Shirzad from Hobe Sound, FL
This trip taught me so much about myself as well as so many animal welfare issues that I am happy I know about. I cannot put into words how this trip has changed my understanding of animals and their conservation. I feel so much better being informed and now can help to make a difference.

Costa Rica Pre-Veterinary Medical Experience

Cassandra Bianco
I gained more veterinary experience in 3 weeks than I ever thought possible. The techniques I learned and the confidence I gained will definitely be useful to me in the future. I didn't expect to become so close with people on the trip, but I've definitely gained some lifelong friends. I loved being immersed in Costa Rican culture and using my Spanish. The best thing about the trip is the amazing vets you work with that are so willing to teach you.
Kelsie I. from Burleson, TX
This trip was amazing! I learned so much about wildlife, conservation and small animal surgery. I am POSITIVE that this is the career for me. I have already recommended this trip to my other pre-vet friends. I will never forget my experience with this trip and Broadreach. If you want to be a vet, take this trip! You won't regret it!
Julie Heninger
The hands-on experience is unmatchable. You can't get that kind of experience in the U.S.A., and it will definitely help on a vet school application. The adventure activities were definitely worth while and also things I would not have been able to do at home.
Katelyn G. from Oakland, MD
From watching surgeries on wildlife to palpating cows and horses to administering injections to a variety of animals to finally learning about rehabilitating natural macaws, it has been a month packed with so much knowledge that I could not have gained anywhere else nor without such a supportive group of peers and instructors. As the days went by, I realized how blessed I was to have had the opportunity to participate in such a unique program.
Kelly Still from New Orleans, LA
This trip was everything I expected and more. The experience was a once in a lifetime opportunity. I will never forget the friends I met nor the memories I made. Throughout this trip I felt like a true veterinarian. I was thrilled when we sat in on the small animal surgeries and participated in the post-op care. The hands-on activities made me more eager to one day become a vet. I have learned a lot throughout this trip, about both animals and myself. I have gained tons of confidence and believe even more that I have everything it takes to be a great veterinarian!
Anjali N. from Switzerland
I never thought I could have so much fun, overcome fears (of bugs) and challenge myself in the activities. Working with sloths was the highlight of my 18 years on this planet. I absolutely loved the lectures, the hands on experiences, and the nights laughing and bonding with the group. Being part of the rehabilitation program and learning from Dr Pia truly opened my eyes to what I want to dedicate my life to.
Geraline Arroyo
I love how diverse out experiences were! We went from primates to dogs and cats and finally farm animals. Everyone found activities they enjoyed. Not only did we have so many hands-on activities, but we also had great expert mentors who cared about our education and were more than willing to have us help them treat the sick animals.

Bali Pre-Veterinary Medicine & Exotic Animal Care

Katherine Jacobs
The Bali vet trip exceeded my expectations in every way possible. As a returning student, I thought I knew what to expect, but once again I was proven wrong. The trip questioned so many aspects of my life from classroom learning to the cultural immersion and interaction. The hands on experience gained from this trip was so rare and even once in a lifetime. I mean, how many people can say they assisted in a leaf monkey examination? This trip has opened my perspective to different views of animal welfare and the incredible work and love locals have! The desire for change and compassion in Bali was palpable. I can only hope to share these experiences with others at home and keep my desire to evoke change moving in the right direction.
Emme Bartlett
This trip was absolutely mind-blowing! From hiking to remote waterfalls and bat caves, to performing physicals on leaf monkeys, to swimming with sharks and manta rays, this trip was constantly challenging us to learn more and expand our world views. Our group became friends so quickly that it felt like traveling with a big family! I can't thank of a single summer where I had so much fun and learned so much about something I love.
Zoja Verlic from Ljubljana, Slovenia
Bali veterinary medicine is a trip everyone should experience. It opens your eyes on how different cultures live, helps you understand things can change if you just start the change within yourself and leaves you with a belief there are people out there willing to help you make a difference. Visiting wildlife centers is so inspirational and helping out at dog shelters will give you the strength that veterinary medicine is something you can do one day to help species that truly count and need our help. Thank you for such a trip, Broadreach.
Erin Mawhinney
The Bali Veterinary Medicine trip is one of the greatest experiences of my life. From impromptu exams on wild animals to hopping stones across a rolling river to exploring the ocean with manta rays. I left Broadreach with memories that I will never forget. But most wonderful of all, I walked away with new friends from all over the world and new insight about the world around me. I went into this trip wondering what the world could offer me, but I left wondering what I can offer to the world.
Testimonial - Laura Easton from Meridian, ID
This trip is perfect for anyone who is interested in wildlife, conservation and veterinary medicine. On top of that you get to experience different cultures and meet people who are passionate about animals and who took an idea and made it happen.

Caribbean Voyages

Caribbean Underwater Discoveries 12-Day Voyage

Anna and Neil Mintz from Encinitas, CA
Our son had a wonderful experience. He found the trip while researching summer programs and had very high expectations which were met at every level. He raved about the trip leaders- all three leaders seemed to be very skilled in working with teens. The program was seamless from start to finish, and I was amazed at how much the students accomplished in a few weeks. We thank you for organizing such exceptional programs and for the professionalism and competence of all of your staff.
Testimonial - Kate Kerns from Richmond, VA
Can't tell you what a wonderful experience Elizabeth had on Broadreach. The only regret she has is that she didn't go for 3 weeks! It seemed to be well run, organized and attentive to safety which is good for the mother's mind! Thanks to you and all for providing this incredible experience!
Laurie Milani from New Orleans, LA
I felt confident that Jenna would be safe and would have a good time. She was so excited to go on the trip, I was afraid the trip would be a let-down. To the contrary, it exceeded all her expectations. Jenna had a fabulous time, learned a great deal and made terrific friends. She loved the staff, the fellow students, the boat, the location, the activities. A 10 out of 10!
Hannah M. from Dallas, TX
When I decided I wanted to attend a Broadreach trip in a foreign country, my parents were concerned for my safety. Now at the end of the trip I see how incredibly safe our group was at all times; with Broadreach, parents and students have nothing to worry about. Every experience on this trip was one that will impact me forever. Diving in Saba, community service and boat living all exceeded my highest expectations. I learned to dive and sail but, more importantly, I learned about new places, people and cultures. I would hands-down do it all over again and I will carry the memories with me forever.
Catherine Rooney
Our daughter thoroughly enjoyed her Broadreach experience. She made new friends, learned new skills and had a great time visiting new places. As far as we can tell, there was a strong emphasis on safety and she seems very comfortable with the program and staff.
Testimonial - Isabelle Ruddy from Branford, CT
This past summer I went on the underwater discoveries program and I had an amazing time. I met new great friends, had a lot of fun, and learned many new things like how to scuba dive, sail, and I learned about different cultures. It was a great experience and I would definitely do a similar program again in the future.
Katie Krupnick
My Broadreach trip was one of the most memorable things I have done in my entire life! I loved every aspect of the trip from the inseparable bond formed between our instructors and within group, to every action filled day! My favorite place was Saba and i especially enjoyed the dives we did there along with the beautiful town and hike. I learned how to Scuba dive (my new favorite thing in the entire world) and work with a group of people that I had never met. I walked away with tears in my eyes, a greater value of teamwork, confidence and so many new friendships that will last a life time.
Testimonial - Mara Pogue from Cincinnati, OH
Jackson had a great trip! I thought your office was an A+ in organizing and communicating all aspects of the trip. I will highly recommend your program to anyone looking for a learning adventure for their teen!
Testimonial - Robin Bellerby from Plano, TX
I must tell you how impressed I am with your organization. You leave no questions unanswered, and it sounds like you are constantly thinking about the "what-ifs." It's a big step to entrust your child to strangers, but I can tell Broadreach takes this responsibility very seriously.
McKenzie Millard
Mac had a fantastic time and made some great friends. She came home so much more confident and grownup it is amazing she was only gone two weeks. She also loved the counselors and thought they did a great job of teaching, but more importantly keeping the camp fun and helping the group come together.
Testimonial - Orly L. from Highland Park, IL
I really loved this trip! Visiting new places really widened my perspectives on life. I really enjoyed living in such close quarters with other kids. It was amazing- by the end we were like a family. This trip really made my summer amazing!
Robert Boschetto
Our daughter had the time of her life. She loved the adventure of living on a boat, learning how to scuba dive (she liked the night dives best), hiking on the islands, getting to know her crew mates, and the beauty of the ocean and the islands. She came back happy, healthy, and full of enthusiasm over what she experienced. She felt the trip was extremely well organized and supervised. We feel she learned things and was challenged to grow in ways that were only possible by going on a trip like this. She got along great with the other students on the trip and would love to do something like this again - soon. We are really happy with how the trip went - the experience was a great match for her.
Testimonial - Guy G. from Park City, UT
It was easily the highlight of my summer. My favorite part was getting scuba certified and doing dives. I also liked hiking and the trail-building.

Caribbean Marine Biology Voyage

Dede Stefan from Charlotte, NC
Broadreach takes care of the parents and the teen. From the moment you sign up until your teen returns, your questions are answered, detailed information is given and you know that you are sending your teen off to a caring and responsible group. They "cut the cord" by limiting access to talk to your teen, but you still feel connected by reading about their adventures in the trip updates. I would highly recommend a Broadreach program.
Alexandra O. from Arnaudville, LA
I absolutely loved every moment! I learned so much and everything comes together in the end. I loved how we got to go on land and explore on free days. Saba was awesome and had sharks that we saw while diving. St. Barts was beautiful along with every Island. Night diving was an amazing experience as well. Just seeing the marine life that you just learned about knowing what they do or something about them is a great feeling. This experience was very memorable and I would do it all over again tomorrow. I came knowing no one but we became our own little family in the end. I have made amazing friends and I will definitely keep in touch. I am so glad I did this, it's very motivating!
Testimonial - Beth Haase from Bronx, NY
My daughter entered with no scuba experience and emerged as a certified diver with plans for a career in oceanography, with detailed knowledge about the marine animals she had encountered. A great trip!
Testimonial - Anjali Lankford
On my marine biology voyage, I met some of the coolest people ever, including the staff on my boat. Most everyone has the same interests and got along really well. Saba and Statia were really cool islands we got to explore, both on land and underwater. I learned about marine biology, diving and sailing and life lessons as well. It was such a memorable trip, I would recommend this trip to anyone who wants to learn to dive and has an interest in learning about marine life. It is a blast and I will never forget it.
Félicia Vachon from Varennes, Québec
The whole trip was awesome! Every single day we had the chance to snorkel, scuba and hike stunning locations. Moreover, we got the chance to see amazing marine animals such as sea turtles, dolphins, parrot fish, stingrays, sea stars, corals, trigger fish, morays, barracudas etc. In addition to all our activities we even learned about extremely interesting marine biology subjects. What I enjoyed the most probably was the fact that we where in contact with the ocean 24 hours a day: sleeping on the trampoline, snorkeling in the ocean, taking classes in the stern, hiking on the beach. I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone interested in marine life!
Ingrid and Helmut Appel from Rheinboellen, Germany
For Dominik, the Marine Biology Voyage was the experience of a lifetime. He has been dreaming of becoming a marine biologist since he was a young child, this trip made his decision to go towards this field even stronger. At all times, we as parents thought that he was looked after very well. He enjoyed the balanced mixture of academics and fun tremendously, and made new friends.
Clarina He
Saba and Ile Fourche are definitely two of the most beautiful places on this trip! Scuba diving and hiking were my favorite parts as well as getting to bond with everyone! You learn about so much on this trip; you definitely need lots of binder paper! I'm never going to forget this experience - there's something about sleeping under the stars and on the water that changes your life! You bond with everyone on your boat and the worst part is the leaving :(
Larry LaChanse from Minoa, NY
This trip confirmed our [16 year old] daughter's career choice in marine sciences. She loved every minute, would have turned around and gone back the day after she returned and hopes to visit again as a college student.
Megan Williams
This trip was absolutely amazing. From the start you are able to quickly make friends that will soon grow into really strong friendships the further into the trip you go. The meals are delicious, the activities all tailored towards your group and your personal preferences. I learned more than I ever know before about the ocean and marine biology, sailing, and scuba diving. Take advantage of every opportunity the leaders offer you and don't be afraid to really take a leap and try something new. This trip was an absolutely once in a lifetime experience and will be one I will cary with me and impact me for the rest of my life.
Testimonial - Melissa Deutsch from Fairfax Station, VA
I would just like to reiterate that it was an amazing and positive experience on every level. Ariel will be approaching her senior year in high school with a definite direction on how she can make our world a better place.
Testimonial - Nathan Lively
You live on a boat with 14 strangers for three weeks. They start as strangers but end up as family. It was an experience of a lifetime. I would highly recommend it to anyone considering Broadreach. You learn so much and have so much fun. It is worth it.
Shanti Fry
Our daughter had the summer experience of her life. She loved every minute. The skipper, the dive teacher and the marine biologist managed to keep eleven teens happy, productive and learning more than they believed they could learn in three weeks. We couldn't recommend the program more highly.
Payson Ruhl
This trip has been one of the best experiences of my life. I got to experience new things like night diving and climbing volcanoes and got to partake in the journey that was turning a group of 12 strangers into a family. I thoroughly enjoyed spending time with other students and staff who are equally as passionate about the ocean and learning how to problem solve and transfer skills we learn in the classroom to actual things we saw in the ocean. By far the best moments of the trip were spent living it up and enjoying the Caribbean with my Nala family.
Susan and Paul Freeman from Saratoga, CA
My daughter had a great time and came back with many fond memories that she'll always cherish. The adventures she had and the friendships she made will last a lifetime. This was a great trip and included a tremendous learning environment for not only marine biology and scuba diving, but about people and environments in other cultures. The quality of instructors was superb, as well as the professionalism of all the staff with a good attitude toward safety and the well being of all on the trip.
Testimonial - Angela Zaladonis from Bethlehem, PA
Marine Biology Voyage was the BEST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE! (Dan Marco all the way). I was learning literally the entire time! Between marine biology class, sailing and scuba lessons, and my amazing instructors (Jimmy, Jessi, and Jean who knew so much about practically everything!). It was with an amazing group of kids and I grew to love practically all of them. I definitely made some life long friends. Visits to the islands were always great adventures, like on Statia when after eating dinner all of Dan Marco was up on the dance floor. Scuba diving, swimming, dance parties, hanging out on the tramps studying or relaxing... life was so good. I would go back in a second. Best thing you could do ever. Broadreach summer 2012 hopefully!!!!
Testimonial - Alex Clawson
Broadreach was absolutely amazing. I saw and did things I never thought I would. Saba is beautiful along with all the other island. I saw cool stuff while diving too. It is just an unforgetable experinece.
Jake Olson
I really enjoyed most everything we did on this trip. . . I enjoyed meeting new people from around the country, and becoming like a little tight knit family aboard a Cat. I like to cook, and cooking for that many people in a tiny galley was a fun challenge The diving was probably the most memorable part of my trip, and I know I'll be continuing that. . . Back to meeting people: it was very interesting to meet people from different parts of the country who were my age, and see all of our similarities regardless of the differences. The academic aspect was astounding: after the trip I realized how much we covered in the short time we were together, and I can now approach a future of marine science with a little taste in my mouth of what is to come. . . I want to thank Amanda Ford, Alan Woodbury, and Baron, our super-skipper for making the trip the way it was: I want to commend them for treating us like fellow responsible humans, and actually listening to us. I found that other trip leaders treated us like we were younger, not adults! that was probably the only thing that bugged me. . . I also want to put a special thanks out to Ted, Motts, Clair (e) and all the other instructors I interacted with who were so great. The trip honestly changed my life, and how I'll be approaching the rest of my high-school career and beyond. Thank You Thank You Thank You again to Amanda, Alan and Baron: please send along my gratitude, if possible. I miss the Caribbean already!

I thought this trip was a life changing experience! My favorite place was Saba, I wished we spent less time at St. Kitts and more time at Statia. Scuba diving was definitely my favorite! Learned lots about marine biology, scuba diving and made lots of new amazing smart friends, including the instructors. I going to miss them tons!!!
Jessamyn Koss Waldo
This trip is the trip of a life time. It's got brilliant teachers who listen and care about you. They help you through the rough times as do the other students when living on such a small boat the group becomes a family. People you can rely on and trust. It is an experience that will affect your entire life.
Testimonial - Sally Goodman from South Dartmouth, MA
The MBV trip was an incredible and wonderful experience with great team bonding and tremendous staff! Rebecca loved the academic studies and the diving and there was no component that was disappointing in any way! The sailing was new for her and she would love to do it all over again!
Hannah Bercovici from Woodridge, CT
The Marine Biology Voyage was one of the most amazing experiences I ever had. I will remember it for the rest of my life. I got so close to my instructors, my crew, and with myself. I learned so much about marine biology and sailing. I got pretty experienced with SCUBA diving. I was happy every second of the trip. The most amazing place we went to was Saba at the end of the trip. We did community service there and hiked to the top of the mountain. There, we all sat in silence (because my sailing instructor and I yelled at them to). The view was completely breathtaking, much like the rest of the trip. I highly recommend this trip for all the new experiences and the new friends.

Caribbean Marine Biology 12-Day Adventure

Shannon F. from Downingtown, PA
I have never been so excited about learning in my life! Not only did I get to study a subject I love in new and beautiful places, but I got to learn how to sail, scuba dive, wake board and climb mountains. This trip also taught me so much about people in general and myself personally. I truly made friendships that will last and memories I will never forget. This is a great trip to conquer fears and try things for the first time.
Kayley A. from Zionsville, IN
Broadreach gave me an experience of a lifetime by allowing me to learn about my love for the ocean, meet new, lifelong friends, and build an independence and self-confidence I never used to have. It challenged me to overstep my boundaries in a safe, memorable way. I will be forever grateful I was given the opportunity of a lifetime.
Testimonial - Jacqueline Quesnel from Trinidad and Tobago
As a parent my wish has always been for my children to experience life and learning beyond the classroom. To know and feel the connection we have to nature and to each other - and from that connection understand our beautiful responsibility to care and heal and uplift in all areas that we can. What an inspiring mission and program you have a Broadreach. So very professional and serving such an important need for young people. Ryan has returned home with great stories of diving - the wonder of it all made such an impression on him, actually he seemed very moved by all of the beauty that being out on the boat and at sea afforded. He also really enjoyed learning about sailing and seems quite keen to crew and captain on yachts if he can in the future. His Marine Biology lessons on board will serve him well at school bringing a whole new perspective to the information that is on the pages of his books. He also made many happy friendships in those 12 days. I believe that expanding global friendships and understanding underpins sustainability for the future.
Ally S. from Atlantic Beach, FL
I can honestly say that this was one of the best experiences in my life. I made a ton of new, amazing friends and learned so many valuable lessons from my instructors. Everyone had so much fun diving, swimming, snorkeling and learning about all of the marine life... I really loved this adventure and definitely want to do it again.
Testimonial - Joan Markey from Middle Village, NY
My son Séamus said it was the best weeks of his life. He is forever changed and it’s all because of Broadreach. He learned so many new skills to sailing and diving. He made new friends with his peers as well as with his counselors and skipper. Séamus has interests sparked in a wider range than he did before. My husband and I want to thank you so much again to everyone at Broadreach.
Jaycie B. from Morgantown, WV
Broadreach was such an amazing opportunity and experience. When I first got tot the airport In St. Maarten, I immediately had other Broadreach students to talk to. The same thing happened on our boat. There were 11 students on my boat and, to me, we were like a little family. I made friends that I know I will never forget, and learned things in a way that I've never learned them before. All in all, this was an experience filled with memories and lessons that are irreplaceable.
Testimonial - Austin O. from Mountain Top, PA
This trip was truly the trip of a lifetime. I met 12 other amazing people. Scuba diving in the Caribbean was breathtaking. This trip was everything I thought it would be and more. Thank you for everything, this will forever be one of the most memorable experiences of my life!
Testimonial - Zoe D from Portland, OR
This trip was amazing! Exploring the wonders of the ocean was an eye-opening experience. It reminds you how you are just a minuscule part of the world, and how truly majestic the ocean and earth are. What's even better is I got to make these discoveries with all the new friends I made here on Euphoria.
William Rhett Gardner
Best decision I've ever made! Definitely one of the funnest trips I've ever taken. The instructors are some of my favourite people. They are there with you every step of the way. The islands are no doubt the most beautiful places I've ever seen. But I miss the people more than the islands, you will make a family in less than one week. The boat does grow small at times but you soon find out that it only grows you closer.
Taylor H. from Jacksonville, FL
The diving is like no other around the world. The professionalism and safety measures taken by the instructors helped make the diving as fun as possible. Cliff jumping was one of the most exhilirating thigs I've done. I highly recommend this trip to anyone craving an adventure.

Caribbean Underwater Discoveries Voyage

Christine Holo from New York, NY
When we first considered sending our daughter to a Broadreach scuba program, we were a bit apprehensive. After all, we would be sending our child to another country, where she would spend three weeks scuba diving with people we didn't know. Now that we've gone through the experience, we can unequivocally say that it was the best summer experience our daughter has ever had. The program was educational and amazingly fun. She learned to sail and she earned a slew of advanced scuba certifications. She also loved the instructors and made great new friends. The program not only taught her diving and sailing skills, but the other valuable lessons like teamwork, shared responsibility and discipline. We already are making plans to sign her up for next summer. Broadreach earned an A+!
Testimonial - Anne Beer from Boulder, CO
James was ecstatic about his summer and several weeks later is still talking about his experiences. Learning to scuba and more about the sea-world has really broadened his interests... I wouldn't be surprised if he wanted to pursue studies about marine life and activities.
Ellen Young (age 14) from Raleigh, North Carolina
Last summer, I had the opportunity to go on the most amazing and incredible trip I have ever done. Broadreach turned my summer into an adventure of a lifetime. I part took in the Caribbean Underwater Discovery Voyage. From Saint Barthélemy to the island of Saba, I experienced things I never thought I would! When I boarded the plane to fly into Saint Martin, I had no idea the things I would soon learn and see. I came into these three weeks not knowing anyone. I was so nervous that I would not meet friends or that I would not like the realities of living on a boat. Despite my fear, I was completely proved wrong. Through these three weeks, I made life-long friends, got several certifications, hiked three volcanoes, participated in community service, shopped and explored every island, scuba dived, saw incredible sea life and learned the true boat-life experience. I had never thought that this experience would turn into one of the best decisions of my life. I would take anything to be back on our boat with my 12 best friends, scuba diving and exploring the deep unknown of the Caribbean. Broadreach did an incredible job making everyones experience the best it could be and I thank them for giving me a summer I will never forget!!!
Testimonial - Beth Chambers from Honolulu, HI
Liliana had a wonderful time on her 17-day adventure. She came home filled with stories of the fun times she had with her new friends on board the boat and she is thrilled that we have decided to register her for another trip next summer. Liliana came back with much more self-confidence and a stronger sense that she is capable of doing just about anything she puts her mind to. Thank you!
Eli Scribner-Moore
Over the course of my trip I have gained skills that will help me in every aspect of life. Working, playing and learning with other members of my group has created an increadibly strong bond between us. Even though I have never met any of the people on my boat until three weeks ago, I feel like we are a close knit family. I will always remember my Broadreach experience and the bonds I have cultivated on my trip.
Jack Gardner
Great thanks to the staff at Broadreach for giving our son Jack an incredible experience. He has been home for several weeks now, and we continue to recognize the maturity and personal growth he gained from this trip. We were originally concerned about sending our 14 year old son on an international trip for three weeks. But the staff from the home office helped us through these concerns. On site, the captain and crew supported Jack expertly. The entire organization offered incredible support for both Jack and all of us at home. Everyone at home waited impatiently for trip updates and photos. Although taking a big step like this was difficult, it was great learning experience that is entirely appropriate for his age. From this trip, Jack gained hard skills in sailing and scuba that motivated him to learn more. More importantly, Jack developed his sense of self and maturity beyond our expectations. Exposure through international travel gave Jack a greater appreciation of home and family, and a greater perspective of other cultures. Most importantly, this was a very positive experience for Jack, giving him the confidence and desire to do, see and experience more. Thanks Broadreach!
Cecilia Zavarse
This trip was an amazing experience. It was an eye opener in so many ways. You meet kids your age from different places and backgrounds and learn to interact with them. It gets difficult at times because when you are on a boat it is hard to get your alone time. Apart from the social aspect, the places aer just beautiful. We do so much in one day and everything is absolutely gorgeous. My best piece of advice would be to push yourself to the max; that way you can get the most possible out of your trip.
Allison M. from Atlanta, GA
Going on this trip is literally living the dream. You're with a bunch of friends living on a fancy boat, learning how to sail and dive?and it's in the Caribbean. Hard to beat. On this trip I've learned how grateful I am for small things and that you can live life awesomely without luxuries. Overall, this was a once in a lifetime experience!
Michael Beamer from North, VA
As her trip winds down I just wanted to thank you for all you do in the NC office to make this possible. The details and professionalism of your staff from the first contact has been world class. Although our contacts with her have been few and limited (best for her, hard for us) I can tell you this has been a life changing experience for Sarah. You all are making it possible for these kids to go on to better and richer lives. Thank you.

The things I learned at Broadreach I will remember for the rest of my life. I made some amazing friends and had the time of my life. I would go on this trip a thousand more times if I could.
Julia Tandy
This was seriously the best experience of my life! I really learned that stepping out of my comfort zone to do something like this can lead to amazing things. I even wrote my college application essay about it! I made so many amazing friends who I still keep in touch with six months later, I've visited some of them and I'm even planning to do a trip with one this coming summer! Diving is my new passion since the trip and I'm so glad I had this experience. Our divemasters were fun and patient, and our skipper was a blast! Learning to sail was great too. Getting to experience the different islands, both from hiking in nature and exploring the towns, was incredible. I can't recommend this highly enough!
Testimonial - Anna Helms
The trip was amazing, going to all of the different island was a lot of fun. All of the things we saw on the divies were absolutely breath taking. Meeting all of the new people was so great and slowly becoming really close and becoming a family.
Nina Armstrong from New York, NY
Broadreach was the most amazing experience I ever had. The people on my boat were incredible and will be my lifelong friends. There was no awkwardness and even the first night we all felt completely at home and stayed up half the night talking and telling jokes. My trip leaders were awesome as well. They were so open to let us choose what we wanted to do. Before I went on this trip some people had said that living in such a confined space was going to be challenging but I loved the bonds that formed that came from living on top of each other. There were no conflicts between people on my boat. I had never scuba dived before and my first dive was incredible and from then on I was hooked. This trip helped me realize what I want to do with my life and the lifestyle I want to live. It was worth every penny because its changed me as a person so much and really opened my eyes to the world. I only hope that everyone can have such an amazing experience as broadreach gave to me.
Sarah Pedersen
Broadreach was the most amazing experience of my life. I've honestly never been happier. Whenever people ask me about my favorite part of my trip I still can't decide because I loved everything about it. Chilling out on the boat, sailing, SCUBA diving, water sports, hiking, community service, town time, cooking, and just laughing and talking with anyone and everyone on the boat. Before I left I was worried that I might not make friends, but by the end I literally cried when we all went our separate ways. Personally I can be shy and awkward around new people, but after the first day, nothing was awkward. I'm actually very glad I didn't know anyone before hand. They don't know anything about you and you can always be 100% yourself and you get a clean slate. I highly recommend Broadreach to anyone who gets this amazing opportunity!!
Testimonial - Ashley Watkins
This trip was definitely worth three weeks away from home. The locations were beautiful especially the hike up to the top of the volcano in Statia and could see the whole island. The fortress on St. Kitts was really cool as well. The scuba diving was indescribable it was so beautiful! The people are so differeent but we definitely got along great together! We will all stay in touch for sure.
Testimonial - Bob and Kate Rosso from Hailey, ID
Stephen?s Broadreach trip was everything he expected and more... He loved the independence of planning each day? Dives, navigation, and even chores were an adventure! He also liked the education and community service aspects. We thought everyone at Broadreach was very supportive and helpful from planning to leading Stephen?s trip.

Great trip ... Next year she would like to go on the Shark expedition in Fiji. Your crew, and office staff are bubbly, well informed, and thorough. When I had a concern, the staff was prompt in their communication and action. Their concern, care and safety for the participants is amazing- first and foremost.
Derek Sollom
Our son had an excellent time on this trip. We had assumed he would love the sailing and diving but he also really enjoyed the trips into town, the hiking and the community service work. We think he gained much more than the adventure. Being out on his own with daily responsibilities and leadership opportunities has definitely had a positive impact on him. He's now much more willing to try new thing and he has become more social than ever. He has matured before our eyes and is now better prepared for his first year in high school. As parents we were mostly concerned about the travel days - airports, customs etc. The Broadreach staff helped explain how this would all work and everything went as expected. During the trip we looked forward to reading the blogs from the kids to get a snapshot of where they were and what they were doing. We are extremely happy we decided to send him on this trip and we would highly recommend it to anyone.
Carlos Carcia
This journey has certainly expanded my hoizons through its veiled teachings. I have learned how to operate a sailboat and know all of its proper names. I have learned all of the proper procedures that take place in a diving rescue situation. I have learned how to classify fish. Yet what made this venture different from pedantic courses is the ability to make the trip one's own. The chance to navigate for weeks in the open sea with out phones, internet, Facebook and feel ok. Better than ok, feeling superb overcoming those lesser things. I remember my shirt drenched in sweat as we hiked up Brimstone Hill Fort, then once at the summit we felt invincible, powereed by the view, by the soothing winds. Waking up at four in the morning for a sail, gliding in the wind, riding the waves, the sun slowly rising. Geared up at dusk to night dive at 'Bird Poop Rock' then submerged in an alien environment with creatures cautiously swimming by. This trip gave me plenty of amazing opportunities but I was ultimately responsible for taking advantage of them. And for this reason, this adventure is one I will never forget.
Testimonial - Garnett Swain from Waynesboro, VA
The program you are running is absolutely phenomenal. The instructors are great... They taught the material very well and made every part of my adventure fantastic. The diving and sailing were my favorite parts. I had so much fun diving on the reefs and seeing all the animals in their natural environment. We would go on these long sails and see nothing but blue water and the island we were headed to in the distance. Thank you so much for an amazing adventure!
Testimonial - Charlotte Grussing
The trip was hard work but the more you put in the more get out. This was a once in a life time experience. The time flew by and our boat is now a family.
Elsa Smith
It was amazing to visit all of the islands that we did, such as Nevis or Saba, and be able to enjoy the sailing, diving, and the communities there! I learned so many different things on my trip -Underwater Discoveries Voyage- such as how to live a little more independently and how to care for the environment a little more. I will always remember this trip and the people I met there that are now some of my great friends.
Testimonial - Laura Kaplan from Aspen, CO
Spending three weeks on a boat with a group of people they had never met proved to be a wonderful growing experience. They learned to accept, respect and truly enjoy people that they may never have stepped forward on their own to meet. They created friendships that will last a lifetime. The trip was an experience they will remember (in a good way) forever. From start to end it was an adventure!

This was the best experience of my life. I loved every aspect about the whole entire program. I would recommend this to everyone because it was so spectacular. I met so many amazing people and loved my counselors. Thank you Broadreach for an experience of a lifetime.
Cynthia R. (age 17) from Saint Charles, IL
My husband and I want to thank you all for Gavin's amazing three-week program! We have been excited to have him home and hear all the stories, and have narrated viewing of pictures, videos, etc. We can see his deep sense of satisfaction for all that he learned and experienced - and his appreciation for the other students and instructors. Kudos to all of you for an incredibly well-run and wonderful program! We really appreciated all the communication, blogs, etc. Despite being new to Broadreach, the timely and helpful communication gave us confidence that Gavin was in good hands. We want to send a special thank you to an exceptional group of instructors - Leah, Sydney, and Christian. What a huge responsibility they had to lead a group of teenagers for 3 weeks and teach sailing, diving and more - all while attending to group dynamics. Whatever they did allowed this group of students to come together as a team while living in close quarters for 3 weeks - all while still learning and laughing! That takes skills often not developed until later in life (if ever). These instructors are three accomplished young people who we are sure will continue to do great things for Broadreach and throughout life. We are so grateful to Leah, Sydney, and Christian - and your Broadreach Caribbean team and the larger organization - for creating and running such excellent programs. You all are making a difference in the lives of so many young people - what a gift to them, their families and their futures - thank you!
Testimonial - Ari Leos Bernstein
I had the most amazing time on the Caribbean Underwater Discoveries Voyage. I would not call this trip a vacation, I think that a better word would be either an experience or adventure. During those incredible three weeks, reality seemed to reverse, in that the days were very long but (instead of being slow and boring) they were filled to the brink with fun. We would get up very early (usually from 6 to 8 AM) and would breakfast, which, like all other meals, was made by another kid. From there we would have to clean the boat and get right into our dive gear. THE DIVING, It was phenomenal! We did at least 20 dives and each one was a new adventure. From massive coral reefs with sunken ships, it was like jumping into a new world where the laws of gravity didn't apply. My favorite part of the diving was provably going down to 70 ft underwater and not being able to see the surface. Even the night dives which, though little scary, were phenomenal. When the sun went down, all of the interesting creatures like sharks and lobsters came out. Other than the diving, we learned to sail, which, while it wasn't my thing, I still enjoyed, most likely because of our instructors. OUR INSTRUCTORS, They were amazing. All 3 of them handled every situation very well, from us not cleaning up our boat well enough, to us all feeling the worst pain we had ever felt after being bitten by Sea Wasps (jelly fish which stigs hurt so much, you are supposed to get shock treatment.) Not only were the great at handeling problems, but they also were very supportive and turned into our family rather than our instructors for those three weeks. A question you might have is, how did we sleep? There is are small cabins underneath the deck, which, in my opinion, can't allow for 4 kids to sleep there (the catamaran is meant for 4 people) also, it get's really hot down there. It seemed that most of the other kids agreed with me as everyone slept on deck under the stars. They weren't the most comfortable conditions but after a long and tiring day, sleep always came easily. One problem with that was that it constantly rained and, when it did, you had to grab your sleeping bag and sprint to cover before you got soaked. Another question you might have is, how do we use the bathroom? The ship does have bathrooms, one per cabin. They are incredibly inconvenient and flushing involves pumping your "stuff" into the ocean. What is easier and much more encouraged is doing an "Aqua-Duckey." This involves swimming a good distance away from the boat and getting out your "number 2" there. All in all, I had the time of my life over my three weeks in the Caribbean. I made great friends, learned to scuba dive and sail, and was able to get the best tan I have ever gotten. I also learned many things about myself, from how much I enjoyed a good dinner after a long, tiring day to the fact that I like rap. I would recommend this trip to everyone who can cope with being away from home for 3 weeks. I, for one, had the time of my life.
Testimonial - Emily Mueller
If you want to learn to dive this is a great opportunity. Becoming certified was fun and easy and I made amazing friends along the way. This was something I will definitely will never forget.

This trip is truly an amazing experience. It broadened my horizons so much. I saw reefs, people, cultures and so much more. I hope other people get these same experiences.

This was my first real life adventure. I will never be the same. For a while I will be classifying my life experiences as "before Broadreach" and "after Broadreach." Because of Broadreach I am more aware that there is a bigger world out there with more than enough resources to support everyone and everyone's dreams. I love Broadreach and the view you give your students. Thank you! I've never been more grateful.
Kristin Pargeans
My Broadreach experience was life changing. You have extremely fun filled and action packed days. I loved being secluded away from the world and sailing on private boats. I learned that there is so much to see in this world and people's ways of life are diverse. Broadreach was the start of travelling for me. The experience shows me so much. I have made new friends and will be coming back next year for sure!

The positive life learning that the Broadreach program offers began for our son Will before he even started to pack. He had to earn 1/2 of the cost of the trip before we would enroll him-thinking this would put him off the idea. Boy were we wrong! As Will has returned to his final year in high school we have observed marked changes; in his willingness to take leadership roles within his peer group, in his confidence and ease when socializing with his peers, and his confidence to pursue his dreams "Hey I know I can do this!!!". Thanks to all the folks at Broadreach who contributed to our son's successful experience.

Limited group size was probably the single most significant factor that made this experience personalized and contributed to character and social growth.

This has been the best summer program I have ever done. The dives were incredible. The kids were fantastic and so were the instructors. The islands were beautiful. There was nothing I would change.

The diving was awesome. The sailing was also amazing. I learned all about reefs, fish and aquatic life. The friends I made were great too.

I loved being on a trip where we had a lot of freetime but other times we had to work toward our certifications. It was very satisfying to know you worked hard to get the scuba and sailing certifications.
Olivia Yale
This was a trip was beyond my expectations! My favorite island was Saba because of the beautiful town and amazing diving. Diving here we saw turtles, eels, and even nurse sharks! Overall, the diving was definitely the best part of the trip simply because of the wildlife. Although, the sailing, hiking, and water sports were amazing as well. I learned how to work and in a group and how to become more independent while also learning about marine and coral conservation and sailing. I made friendships and memories that will last a lifetime and this experience was beyond memorable...I would recommend it 100%!

There are not many words that can describe how amazing my Broadreach trip was. Going on the 21 day Underwater Discoveries trip changed my life forever. Ive never experienced such an exciting and new way of life as I got to have on my trip. Before going on the trip I had always loved the water but after my trip I learned exactly how much and now have dedicated my time to finding ways to help the ocean. These Broadreach trips really help you take a look at yourself and help you get away from everyone back at home. I personally made so many friends that I know I will have for a lifetime, friends on my boat and on other boats as well. On the trip, my favorite place had to be Saba because on one of our dives we saw a shark which was surreal. I learned so much from this trip and I really recommend Broadreach, especially the underwater discoveries trip! I will never forget the three weeks I spent on that trip, it is the best thing I have ever done and will surely be returning to Broadreach again.

Davis had the experience of a lifetime. I sent away a boy and a man returned. He says that the time flew by and in instant he was returning home. He is an incredible person to begin with, but now his mind and perspective have been expanded to a degree that could never have been achieved without the time and interactions he had with his peers and your instructors. He learned so much from the skipper. Not only about sailing, but life choices and the importance and value of life experiences and following your own path. This is the second trip Davis has taken with Broadreach and I am grateful for the work and opportunities you provide that words cannot express. Davis hopes to work with your program in some capacity and would love to have the opportunity to travel with you again. Thank you!
Kari Halkyard from Las Vegas, NV
We hoped this trip would show our son what he was made of - the leadership qualities and self-reliance we knew he was capable of. He discovered those qualities and more. They use experiential learning to teach kids things they never imagined they could do but made the process fun along the way. Everyone should consider the three week trips, as the final week was where everything came together for our son. He can't wait to go back.

Luke was almost 14 when he attended GV11 and he is entering high school in the fall. He had a great experience. Earning the PADI certifications gave him a lot of confidence and great experiences. Our hope was for him to meet new people and see the the world extends beyond Raleigh NC. The stories and how his perspective has changed have been great. He seemed to make some close connections to some others on the trip and they have continued to talk via facebook. I felt very good about the safety. I like that the number of students is kept low on the trips and that the leaders are as experienced as they are. He loved that islands they traveled to and enjoyed being on land as much as on the boat. He definitely had one leader that he felt more connected to but I think enjoyed all three. I think his biggest take away was he can accomplish anything that he works hard at and that most kids his age feel vulnerable and insecure from time to time no matter what circumstances they come from. We continue to hear about the trip which usually leads to a great discussion between us.
Julien Mordecai from Edenton, NC
I asked my son what his favorite part of the trip was. He said it was the other kids and the counselors on his boat. He said it was just so cool to be in that tight group. I also asked him what was the most challenging part of the trip. He said leaving was the hardest part...He loved the scuba diving and the hikes and said he was the skipper from one country to another. As his father, I can see his demeanor has changed... I am certain he is confident he can do just about anything now.
Testimonial - Beth Greenberg from Riverwoods, IL
Our experience was the same as last year...very organized and safe. The trip leaders were outstanding as usual - great role models for David. He continues to think of Broadreach as his summer home. The experiences personally for him are insightful and inspiring for his future.
Karyn Anderson
This was our son's second Broadreach adventure. After experiencing the thrill of scuba diving and living aboard a boat for two weeks in St. Martin, he was ready for the advanced adventure of the Grenadines Voyage. This trip did not disappoint in the slightest. They did so much to advance their diving skills with many new PADI certifications. All the while, they were encouraged to lead, explore and share experiences with others from all around the world. The Broadreach staff was by all accounts "awesome". They were teachers, protectors, leaders, followers, peers, friends, and so much more to these young adults for 21 days. Knowing that training each has fulfilled with Broadreach gave us great comfort that our child we be kept safe throughout his time away.
Madeleine B. from Montreal, Quebec
Broadreach has helped me achieve so many goals I had previously set for myself. I learned to explore new horizons with nine other students who each taught me so much, all coming from such different and fascinating backgrounds, yet sharing the same interest to discover the world. Before this trip, I never knew that studying and work could be so much fun. My instructors couldn't have been more interesting, aware, motivating and inspiring people. In 21 jam-packed days, I learned dozens of rescue skills, got five new scuba diving specialties, volunteered at a turtle sanctuary, savored local fruits and foods I had never heard of, sailed through three magical countries and built friendships I know will last forever. These incredible experiences have shown me that you can't do too much in one day and that everyone and everything deserves to be explored because there are no limits to what they can teach you. After this memorable, life-changing, trip, I know that I will be returning to Broadreach to take another step towards the person I later wish to become.
Isabella O'neill from Brooklyn, NY
Spending three weeks in the Carribean on a sail boat with 14 other people I had never met before was one of best experiences of my life. First of all, every location we stayed at and every island was extremely beautiful. We got to dive every single day; so I learned tons of new things about diving and now I feel a hundred times more confident than I did at the beginning of the trip, and I got to experience a great variety of dives. One of the parts of diving that I loved was getting my rescue diver certification; we got so involved while in the learning process and it was a lot of fun, and of course I gained so much knowledge from this as well- now I can save a diver! Other than diving, we sailed a lot, did watersports, hiked to waterfalls, and got to explore some islands. All of these activities were incredibly fun and interesting as well, and I learned a lot from them. Aside from all the activities and diving, I think what made this trip such an amazing experience was getting to know the other kids and instructors and forming a true family with them. Also, even though most of the time we had to "rough it out", the good experiences completely outweighed the tougher ones, so each part of the trip was just as great. Some other memories I love are sleeping outside on the boat, cooking, cleaning, and just getting to experience life on a boat- a completely different and new lifestyle, but one that will always keep bringing me back to the ocean! I would go back and do that trip a million other times!

Our 13-year old daughter is pretty independent and has traveled around the world with our family. Broadreach was particularly enriching because she was immersed in an environment with other teens her age, doing challenging and rewarding tasks. Liliana came home bubbling over with stories about her friends and their activities: they all worked together cohesively and formed strong bonds that made each day special. Now back home and at school, I see better organization, more willingness to help around the house, and in general more self-confidence. We will definitely enroll her in a program next summer!

This trip is absolutely incredible. From visiting sites featured in Pirates of the Caribbean to diving off uninhabited islands, it is nonstop fun. You will make lifelong friends and have awesome instructors. You learn new diving tricks and gain sailing tips everyday as you command your way upon your own unique route through the Grenadines. There is no better way to spend a summer! This trip is truly unforgettable.
Sally Myers from Cincinnati, OH
Our daughter came home beaming with confidence after her Caribbean dive program! She admitted that she thought it would be 'easy' and 'fun' and quickly realized it was going to be an enormous personal challenge. She accomplished it along side of new friends and supportive group leaders and tells wonderful and funny tales of their experiences together.
Grace Koziol
It was a great trip. The scuba diving was great. I learned how to sail a boat, although I wasn't very good at it. I saw all kinds of fish. I just love the Carribean. I made a lot of friends that I keep in touch with.
Maddie M.
To spend my birthday on this trip was the perfect present. The amount of memories I made from this trip will last me a lifetime. I always find myself thinking about the friends I made and the many memories of just looking up at the stars on the trampoline at night while slowly drifting asleep or just sitting around with everyone talking. From going on numerous dives a day to hiking up to a rainfall to making dinner for everyone; I've never had so much fun and can't wait to do another trip next summer!
Testimonial - Kellie McConahay from Edina, MN
The program was extremely well-run and provided our 14-year-old daughter with a unique opportunity to develop expertise in scuba diving. We would do it again in a heartbeat!

Our son, Gabe really enjoyed this trip! He learned so much and I believe he did Grow from many parts of the experience. Of course he learned through both the teaching and the real experience of all the beautiful scuba diving. He also learned how to be a crew-member on a catamaran sailing vessel with 11 other teens and enjoyed that experience so much! I am hoping he grew in his "social skills" living with the Leaders and teens on board. * I would like to hear from the Leaders of his trip. As his mom, I was so happy to hear from him, on his return home, that he at least tried and frequently enjoyed the foods that were made on-board. He is our Very "picky eater" and I was a little worried that he would get enough calories due to this issue to sustain all of the activity. But to my Delight he told me that he enjoyed almost everything and always at least tried tasting all the food. As far as I am concerned that is a Miracle because at home he will not eat many foods. So it shows me many things; 1) he does better when in a different setting, 2) he had the Willingness to try different foods, 3) he was kept so physically active that he was extremely hungry (he told me he often asked for seconds!) and 4) that another teen (girl) on-board, who also was a picky eater and Gabe said he empathized with her, encouraging her to try some of the foods. He said she almost always ate peanut butter and jelly sandwiches; but I feel so good that he tried to help her. I am So impressed with Broadreach, with your office staff, your Leaders and coordinators of the trips! And I must say the woman who set up Gabe's flight reservations through BeeLine was Fabulous!! She not only did it quickly (we decided on this trip in mid-June) but coordinated that Gabe would be meeting another team member on the way down and flying back into the states. And she talked to me about her years of experience of setting up Flight Reservations for Broadreach travelers, and how she has heard from parents sending their kids back multiple years how they Love Broadreach! This really made me feel wonderful about picking Broadreach because I was hearing it from an outside source who was telling her experience. I'm sure there is more I can share but I will end with; Your group met our expectations and truly exceeded them! Thank you all!! Mary Knapp Seibel, Gabe's Mom :)

Grace had a great time. The other kids were great. No complaints at all.
Maggie Taishoff (age 17) from Virginia
This trip was an amazing experience for me. The instructors were incredible (shout out to Rachel, Cami, and Ananda), they supported everyone on there journey to becoming better divers and sailors, along with making the trip unforgettably fun. I would go back in a heart-beat to be with my fellow Broadreachers. The length of the trip was perfect for me (not too short; not too long), the diving exceeded my expectations, and living the boat life is definently an experience I will never forget.
Dalton Winternheimer from West New York, NJ
On my trip, Grenadines Voyage, not only did I travel to the beautiful islands of St. Vincent and The Grenadines and dive some of the best dive sites in the Caribbean, I made friends to last a lifetime. The group of people who attend and work on Broadreach trips are as diverse as the places they travel. I will never forget the incredible friends I made with my peers and my dive instructors.

What didn't I learn on this trip! I came here not knowing what to expect, and am leaving with an advanced open water certification, a college credit, and a new best friend. The amount I have learned beyond lectures in three weeks is endless and couldn't be more thankful for this opportunity. My eyes have opened a little wider and sailing in the Caribbean Ocean makes your mind stop but spin at the same time. Don't miss an opportunity like this.
Testimonial - Aimee Finley
The trip was great and the experience is something I will never forget. Diving on coral reefs in the Caribbean while learning about all the different organisms and environments was a great way of learning. Statia was a lot of fun and Saba had the most beautiful reefs. Conducting reef checks and fish IDs made you feel like a real marine biologist.
Testimonial - Leah Moorehouse
This trip was rewarding in so many ways. You learn to appreciate some of the smallest things in life while creating life long bonds with new friends. Saba had the best diving you could imagine. Everyday I saw something new and was in awe of the whole trip. I will continue to soak in this trip even when its over. So show me a day when the world wasn't new!
Karrington Atkins
This trip was the best experience of my life, and I know that sounds cliche but it really was. I have so many memories from this summer that will last me a life time! I do not go a day without thinking of this past summer. I loved being able to travel in not the simple tourist way but being immersed in a completely new culture! The diving is spectacular and what better place than to be diving everyday than in the Caribbean! I made amazing friends and connections that will last a lifetime. I recommend any of the broadreach trips to anyone who wants to have an experience of your lifetime, you will not regret it. I loved this program and cannot wait to go on my next broadreach experience!
Ellis J. from Bowling Green, KY
Broadreach taught me a strength I had forgotten I possessed. I was shown so many passions and perspectives and have been inspired by everyone. This trip gave me the skills I need to journey on into the future and has made me excited to do so. Once you master boat life, you can master anything.
Brittany Evans
Broadreach is a great program if you love the outdoors, its hand on applicatons make learning fun and the dive sites and hiking are some of the most enjoyable things I have ever done. Walking in cloud filled tropical rainforest and swimming with baby sea turtles and sharks is just the beginning. You will make some great friends and experience diversity on a whole new level. An experience I'll probably never forget.
Testimonial - Hope Goodrich
St. Kitts, Statia and Saba were among my favorite places to visit because of their general atmosphere and dive sites. I love wake boarding and tubing early in the morning. I thoroughly enjoyed going to the beaches and getting my land legs. The people I met were so much fun and we grew very close; they are definitely my second family.
Testimonial - Greg Brittingham
Basically we scuba dove the best reefs and ship wrecks in the Caribbean and went from hardly feeling comfortable in the water to diving 100ft to watch schools of fish and sharks at the top of an underwater mountain. It was awesome.
Jessica Quinn
The trip was more than I ever imagined. Everyday I was more impressed. Saba and Statia were my favorites places. The diving was mind bending. I have made friends here that I wil keep in touch with for long after this trip is over. It's something that has really made an impression on my life and has solidified my career choice.
Madison White
These trips are incredible. I have been on three now and I have had some of the most amazing times of my life. I talk about them all year round and have made some of the most amazing friends that I am still in touch with. The places we go are incredible, the things we do are like nothing you can imagine. Broadreach is something that will honestly change your life.
Katherine McInerney
I absolutely had a blast. The instructors were great as well as the people I was on the trip with by the end it seemed like we were family. Hiking down into the dormant crater of the volcano on Statia was amazing. I learned so much about myself from knowing that I can be leader to knowing that I can do things like hike into the crater. My broadreach experience was a truly life changing experience from making new friends to experiencing my first time out of the country on my own with no parents.
Kayla Lusnia
This was the best decision I have ever made, and I would do it again in a heartbeat. It was a fantastic group of people on a wonderful adventure. We learned so much and had a great time doing it. It was definitely worth it, and these are the experiences I will never forget.

This trip completely took me out of my boundaries but was worthwhile. Not only was the diving amazing, but I also enjoyed the academics and how it tied in with the locations we went to.

Caribbean PADI Divemaster

Victoria Gomez from University of Rhode Island
Professional experience for any young adult! The skills I learned during this training have far exceeded my expectations. I gained the confidence and self assurance to push myself and believe in myself in every aspect of my personal and professional career. There is no better way to learn how to become a Dive Master and take steps towards a better you. I would recommend this program to any person interested in diving, marine studies, self improvement and self confidence. Truly one of the most amazing experience and life changing experiences in my life.
Carolyn Brook from Darien, CT
Chris went on his recent Broadreach trip to get his Divemaster certification. He had an outstanding time, and raved about the professionalism and welcoming nature of all those involved. As an 18-year old, he was also very pleased that they were treated as adults, with all the responsibility and freedom that goes with it. Safety and responsibility were always of paramount importance, but the program was run in such a way that there was a great deal of fun for these young adults. He still keeps in close contact with a couple of the friends he met on the trip, and I know he would highly recommend it to anyone interested in pursuing diving. In fact, his younger sister will be going on a Broadreach trip next summer for her first diving experience. Can't wait!!
Sara Buckley from Chapel Hill, NC
I absolutely loved the PADI Divemaster trip! My instructor and skipper were awesome and we all had a great time. This was my second Broadreach trip and it's safe to say that I still love Broadreach! I would recommend this trip to everyone it's so much fun and I meet the coolest people that I still keep in touch with now. The diving in the Caribbean is amazing and the marine life is spectacular... I honestly don't even want to dive anywhere else because nowhere I've been has even compared. The Broadreach staff is amazing and they're all really nice and so are the other students. I love Broadreach and I would recommend it to anyone!

Adam grew mentally, emotionally, and spiritually because of this trip. He now has a sense of 'who he is'. His confidence has increased VERY much! Bridgette and Mark were spectacular; just the right amount of supervision and guidance. I would like to say it was a trip of a lifetime, but hopefully he will have many more adventures like this. It was certainly the best trip, and best experience of Adam's young life so far.......

You think you've traveled the world and then you take this trip and find out youve been missing out on all of the experiences that make travelling meaningful and really allow you to live and breathe another culture. We walked the streets of Cusco, roughed it on the Inca Trail, napped at Machu Picchu, learned Spanish in the Sacred Valley, worked with local schoolchildren, and did community service in the Amazon rainforest. We saw things that few outsiders ever get the chance to see and did things I never thought I would be able to do. The best part about it all was the closeness of the group and the personal growth I noticed at the end.
Anja M. from Wrenshall, MN
If I had to explain this trip in a phrase, it would be eye-opening. From exploring remote cultural communities to trekking the Inca Trail and Machu Picchu, this trip has exposed me to memorable locations and experiences. Throughout a myriad activities in various locations I have gained a deeper appreciation for all I have in life in addition to recognizing the large Peruvian population as a hard-working, down-to-earth people. I have to say, improving my Spanish here has allowed me to live this experience to the fullest. Whether it be rattling down the Amazon River or jamming in the streets of Cusco City, Peru has changed me forever.
Christine Reddin from Raleigh, NC
My son enjoyed this trip immensely. It was a perfect mixture of service & adventure. I felt very comfortable with his safety while on the trip. While he was unable to reach me for their first call, he was allowed to send a quick email which was helpful. Most helpful of all, though, were the journal entries and the smiling photos which assured me that George was having a great time! George enjoyed meeting other teens his age with similar curiosity about the world. He really enjoyed the full-time Broadreach staff who I could even tell were upbeat and instrumental in creating the right atmosphere and pulling their crew together. Additionally, the temporary guides along the way also seemed to have a special 'something' and really had a way of making a positive impression. The trip was truly everything I and my son hoped it would be!
Gabriella Kostrzewa from Raleigh, NC
The thing I love most about Broadreach is that we don't usually follow the path most traveled. We do things that most people don't get to do. Yes, the hike in Peru is physically challenging at times because of the altitude but the joy felt when you get to the pass and see the sun rising over Machu Picchu is ineffable. I will always remember that feeling!
Ryan Kutulas from Birmingham, AL
This trip, in its entirety, has been one of the most unforgettable and extraordinary experiences of my life. Traveling through the city of Cuzco, hiking in the Andes Mountains, seeing Machu Piccu, and experiencing the one-of-a-kind uniqueness and awesomeness of the Amazon, and soo much more, has made me a lot stronger as a person and has changed my perspective on life in many different ways. Also, being able to meet lots of new people and make new friends made this trip even more worthwhile. If you are up for the adventure of a lifetime, you should most definitely consider embarking on this fantastic journey.
Anna Middleton
Travelling to Peru through Broadreach was an experience of a lifetime and I wouldnt have done it any other way. I learned more than I ever would have on my own about the language and culture. I never felt like a tourist and made genuine friends with locals. Traveling with a group of other students and awesome counselors made learning fun and gave you someone to lean on when you needed it. I would do it again in a heartbeat!
Bailey Mccune
The name "Peru Spanish and Service" truly does not justify the trip. While Spanish and service are both critical elements, Peru has so much more to offer! The historical value of Peru's towns and cities overwhelm all senses. The hike pushes the limits off what most people would consider possible for the "average American teenager," and Machu Picchu pushes the limit of what people think is possible for mankind as a whole. The biodiversity of Peru's landscapes and nature always provide breathtaking views, whether it be the monstrous snow capped mountains or the luscious jungle of the Amazon River Basin. I now have an endless feeling of self-satisfaction knowing that in this past summer I have completed tasks that 99% of the world could/would never do, and it's all thanks to Peru Spanish and Service!
Astrid Massart from Brussels, Belgium
I will forever remember this journey across Peru! The hike in the Andes was amazing and learning Spanish by working with the kindest and most welcoming community. But for sure, the most memorable place we have visited was the Amazon rain forest. Feeling disconnected, calm and surrounded by nature taught me how precious the earth is.
Ella K. from Lenox, MA
Sitting in my room one random school night deciding that I wanted to do something with my life was a wonderful decision. I was not previously exposed to Spanish before the trip, yet I managed to greatly improve my language skills and experience Peruvian culture. There were so many multi-faceted experiences such as the Inca Trail and the language school that were educational, culturally immersive, and fun. I also especially loved the fact we explored so many different climates. From the high Peruvian Andes, to the cool streets of Cusco to the heat and humidity of the Amazon, we experienced and saw what diverse Peru has to offer. 3 weeks of my summer extremely well spent!
Ellen Winston from Santa Cruz, CA
This trip has been absolutely amazing and one that I'll never forget. I don't know how many times in my life an entire town will assemble solely in honor of my arrival, and I will cherish that memory and all the memories like it for as long as I have them. I've learned so much from the locals here as well as our group and I will always appreciate this knowledge gained.
Sarah Smith
When I first signed up for this trip, I did not know what to expect. I didnt know that during this trip I would make life-long bonds and friendships, learn more about the culture and history of Peru, enhance my Spanish, and take in new sights and experiences that are probably once in a lifetime. I will never forget the memories made and friendships created. This trip helped me become more confident, adventurous, and outgoing and is one of the best things Ive chosen to do in my lifetime.
Faith Hamlin from Wilson, WY
There aren't many words to describe how fantastic this trip was. I might have been the trip of my life! Peru is such a beautiful and exciting country that has adventures waiting for you! Its remarkable how you can be in the snow capped mountains in the cool, crisp air and with a plane ride under an hour you will be in the hot Amazon where the fortress of trees surrounds you. One of the best parts would have to be when you finish a long day of service where you have put all your energy and you see that you have made a great difference. We saw the differences we made in the eyes of the kids we met and taught and even in the rain forest working to build trails! I think about everyone I made an impact on almost everyday. It's hard not to smile when you think of all the Peruvian children we got to meet and share smiles, laughs and hugs with! One of the most important lessons I learned on this trip was the importance of being a traveler, not a tourist. We didn't go to Peru and "take, take, take" we went to Peru and we gave something back we made an impact, not only with service work, but even with small conversations and meetings with the local people. I honestly don't think I will forget much about this trip. I continue to think about the impact it made on my life everyday. I see things with new eyes now, and its better. Friendships that I made on this trip will last forever. You found a special bond with everyone. So many laughs were shred during this trip! You weren't only close with the kids the leaders were AMAZING too! Everyone stepped up to take care of each other and we were always looking out for one another. The friendships I made are not easily explained because they were so strong. We never took group pictures on our Broadreach trip, only family photos.
Testimonial - Ellen Watlington from La Mesa, CA
This experience has been utterly life-changing. From our hike, to the community service portion, to our days in Taray, it's all been one huge amazing time with great people who I'll never forget.
Holly D. from Milton, MA
Peru Spanish and Service was an amazing trip! I loved everything from hiking the Inca trail to sleeping with the monkeys in the Amazon. In between these two capstone moments of the trip, I learned Spanish, visited Machu Picchu, and explored the colonial city of Cusco. While doing all of this, I made a bunch of really great friends, bartered in markets in Spanish, and went horseback riding through the Andes. This was an awesome trip and I'll always remember it!
Jamie Ullman from New Canaan, CT
The service aspect not only taught me a lot of Spanish, but also about the world I live in, yet am so isolated from in the USA. The landscape was beautiful and it reassured the importance of protecting nature in my mind. Living in the amazon definitely helped me overcome some of my nature-based fears.
Josh B. from Short Hills, NJ
This trip was great. It opened my eyes to an entirely different culture that I would have never been able to experience. Along the way, I met an amazing group of guys and girls. We had the best of times together. Leaving is tough, but I know I have gained so much knowledge and perspective in the past 3 weeks. I have memories to keep for a lifetime.
Sydney Shuster
This trip was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. The cultural immersion opened my eyes to the world outside the comforts of home. I will never forget the last few steps to reaching 14,700 feet or watching the sunrise from a 200 foot communications tower in the middle of the jungle, or conversing with a little girl when we camped in their village. Peru is incredible and Broadreach made this all possible
Layl A. from Abu Dhabi
This experience changed my life in many ways. I learned more Spanish grammar and vocab, and I am more confident in my day-to-day scenarios. My favorite part of the trip was the hike in the Andes as I feel that it was truly the highlight of the trip. Machu Picchu was simply breathtaking.
Stephanie Buglione from Vestal, NY
I can look back and remember all the great times our group had together, my favorite being the community service in Huacanhuasi, having the experience to bond with all the kids and learn about a truly poverty stricken Peruvian community. I have made so many amazing friends and laughed tons! This has truly been a life changing experience that I will always remember!
Hayley Howard from New York, NY
Adventure Peru was without doubt the most incredible, memorable, and eye-opening experience of my life. Not only did I have the rare opportunity to travel around an incredible country, living and working in remote places I'd never have the chance to be part of otherwise, but I got to do it with 13 other people who all shared my excitement for the work we were doing, people we were helping, and the intense amount of adventures we took part in. My favorite part of the trip was definitely the relationships I built during my 23 days abroad, both with those traveling with me, who I can honestly say are now as close to me as some of my friends back home, but also the locals we worked with (especially the younger children and the kids my age). I never thought it could be so easy talking to a complete stranger who didn't even speak my language, but my fluidity in Spanish improved immensely and I had some wonderful conversations that enabled me to get a glimpse into the lives of the kids I did service projects with as well as our guide on our incredible 3 day hiking trip through the majestic Andes. This trip was incredible and unforgettable because of all the people I got to know, the diversity of the service work we did, and the drastically different places we visited (the Andes, Cusco, and the Amazon) and I would recommend it 100%.

It's difficult to choose one highlight of this trip when everything has been amazing and eye opening. There was the end of the Incapirca hike, when we saw the trucks and felt an overwhelming sense of both accomplishment and relief. There was the El Cajas hike where we got to enjoy beauty the beauty that was lost on us during the first hike. There was the horseback ride through the hills at the base of Cotopaxi that made us all feel like majestic cowboys. These were all close contenders for my highlight of this trip, but the champion, the true highlight, was the day we finished our service project at the school. None of the other feelings mentioned can compare to the feeling of looking at your work and feeling like you've done something to make a difference, not just for yourself, but for someone else.

Thank you Broadreach for making our sons experience such a positive one. Not only did he mature, but your commitment to making sure that all your participants stay healthy, both physically and mentally was excellent. Your staff is excellent!
Molly Keisman
My experience with Broadreach was incredible. I had a group that I really connected with and instructors that were eager to provide us with a great experience. In some ways, the trip was different than I expected It wasn't easy. In fact, it pushed me mentally and physically and now I can say that I have hiked in the Andes Mountains, camped, did a homestay, and more. I tried so many things, took so many risks, and learned about a country which I had no prior knowledge of, but now love. Thanks to this trip, my Spanish comprehension and speaking ability really improved. We were always learning, even when it didn't feel like it.
Gardner and Deborah Britt from Santa Rosa, CA
It is difficult to convey adequately the superlative qualities of this program. Each facet - adventure backpacking in the Andes, Spanish language instruction at the hacienda, cultural immersion in a beautiful colonial city, community service - could have stood alone as justification for the trip. The leaders and organizers showed a gift and expertise in organization, attention to detail, vision, and the ability to realize their vision.
Anne Williams from Shaker Heights, OH
The language immersion programs Immersion Ecuador and Immersion Costa Rica/Nicaragua were amazing experiences for my daughters. They entered their senior years of high school with increased self confidence and a clearer sense of direction for college. Their language skills improved and their increased appreciation of diversity and environment is wonderful to witness.
Erika Reiger
This Broadreach trip has taught me so much about myself and has allowed me to push my boundaries and see what I am capable of. The people who attend these programs are incredible and help you to test yourself in ways I could never have imagined. This trip has been so memorable for me and I am forever grateful to have had the opportunity to attend.

I really enjoyed this trip. It was challenging, interesting and fun. Throughout the trip we got to meet a lot of interesting people, make new friends and had lots of time to practice and improve our Spanish. The activities planned were fun. I've made some great new friends and learned a lot about the culture here in Ecuador. Everything is beautiful here- the people, the land and the culture. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone.
Jan Maddison from West Lake, CA
This adventure was so fabulous giving our daughter the most wonderful exposure to a completely different culture, while managing to reinforce her belief that we as human beings are all fundamentally the same. Meeting people both with the group and those along the way, and sharing their experiences will give her family and friends fabulous stories to enjoy. Such an amazing adventure, thank you Broadreach!

Broadreach provided the opportunity to explore Ecuador: climb mountains, learn to weave, live with a family, dance around fires, and make new friends with peers from different parts of the country. Sarah is now starved for more adventures. Thank you!

Discovering the Ecuadorean culture during my trip was absolutely fascinating. Going from Salsaca, an indigenous community known for its intricate, traditional weavings, to Alausi where we explored the town and interacted with local kids to Cuenca where we had fabulous experiences with our home-stay families- going to futbol games, salsa dancing, and ice cream trips- I couldn't have asked for a better summer than this!
Logan F. from Charlottesville, VA
My experience with Broadreach was incredible and is something that I'll never forget. I loved every part of the trip from hiking five days on the Inca Trail to living with my home-stay family in Cuenca. I created both memories and relationships that I'll never forget. I am already planning on revisitng Ecuador in the future and sharing some of the same experiences I had while here with family and friends.
Ryan Nathenson
I thoroughly enjoyed my time here in Ecuador. Though there were parts that were challenging, like the Inga Peca hike and the time in Alto Coca, it was a fun trip. My Spanish has greatly improved and I am much more comfortable speaking with others. Everyone in our group got along well and I have gained a new perspective and appreciation for the comforts back at home. My favorite part of the trip was when we visited the hot spring after our week of living in the jungle doing service work.
Samantha Glenn
This trip was so much fun! I have so many memories from it that it is difficult to choose my favorites! I remember all of the laughs and the people here are so amazing. These experiences are like none I have ever had before. Backpacking, seeing a volcano erupt, hot springs, homestays, food, horseback riding, and so much more!
Jeanne Jung from Chapel Hill, NC
This trip was incredibly rewarding. Being able to work in the clinics was an amazing way to learn about a new culture. The local people are very inviting and the food was diverse and delicious. My group bonded immediately, and looking back I can't believe how much we accomplished and saw on this trip.

Jared had a fantastic time. He totally bonded with the group and felt that he made wonderful friends. It was nice that it was a small group. He came home saying he was more confident in his speaking fluency in spanish and that was very important to us. I never was concerned about his safety, I felt like he was in good hands having met Ben at the airport. The only negative that I heard from him was the packing list. It only focused on the hiking portion so we really didn't pack enough clothes but he managed.

My home-stay experience was really valuable. I was able to grow closer with my friends and family and learn lots of new Spanish.
Sarah Acselrod from Westport, CT
I loved how we were able to do unique activities in different places all over Ecuador. Group bonding in the secluded and cozy lodge in Cotopaxi, Spanish class by the beaches in Montañita, clinics in Riobamba and adventures in Baños were all great experiences and helped us get to know the country.

Amazing, breathtaking, phenomenal, incredible, extraordinary, I could list more because this trip was all of these things and more. Broadreach trips are the best trips I have ever been on that balance learning and experiencing the culture around you.
Testimonial - Caroline Dixon from Southern Shores, NC
After three weeks in Spain, I felt like I had learned a whole year's worth of Spanish. Especially after only taking one year of Spanish, I was worried I would not be able to understand the culture. However, the people there and places I visited grew my knowledge of the Spanish culture. I learned so much from my host family and from the cool sites that we hiked or looked at. It was truly an unforgettable experience that I will hold with me forever.
Testimonial - Chloe Casdagli from Santa Fe, NM
I had the time of my life. I've always believed experiences shape us, and never will I find one more educational than this one. Not only the activities, but the people motivated me to open my mind and change some perspectives. It gave me more confidence in myself and a better understanding of the world. I highly recommend this trip for those who want to extend themselves beyond their home and family.
Testimonial - Sophia Donovan from Appleton, WI
I went on a Broadreach trip to Spain this past summer and it was arguably one of the best experiences of my life. The staff was so nice and easy to work with and the other campers were amazing. I would 100% recommend looking into going on Broadreach trip. You won't regret it.
Testimonial - Thea Reddin from Charlotte, NC
I learned so much about Spanish and being confident in my speaking ability. I also learned a lot about other cultures and how to adapt to different lifestyles. We didn't have very many health issues to address. This was my second Broadreach trip and I loved it so much! I would definitely do it again because the people, the leaders, and the actual trip was exactly was I was looking for. We only needed to spend money on souvenirs and snacks so it was really easy. Don't spend all of your money within the first week! Don't be afraid to speak to people and to mess up! Everyone understands that you're going to make mistakes and they are really accepting of it. The wardrobe you packed was better suited for a semester of camping than club hopping. Outdoorsy, you might forgo a crazy night out for an early all-day adventure. You'd rather take in the rich culture of an old town than the metropolis of a modern city, but for you getting off the grid is ideal.

Caribbean Marine Biology Voyage

Testimonial - Bridget John

Bahamas Marine Biology

Testimonial - Adam Kemp
It was an exhilarating experience and I had an awesome time. Some favorite things on the trip wre the night dive, boat dives, cliff diving, and making new friends. Some other fun things were swimming in the cave, hikes, and snorkeling at a real ship wreck. You learn about teamwork and all about the ocean and its creatures. Learning in a college-like environment was fun and you learn a lot about yourself. This trip had so many more amazing places and activities, and I highly recommend this trip to anyone.
Diana and Bill O'Neal from Chapel Hill, NC
Thanks for the opportunity to take our son beyond the familiar. It was the trip of a lifetime with new friends that truly feel like family. Based in large part on last year's and this year's trips, he has become increasingly sure that he plans to make marine biology his life's work. Broadreach's trips are wonderful, challenging, safe experiences that foster lifetime friendships, develop career interests and build self confidence. We were very impressed with work that Tyler accomplished while at the Gerace Research Center.
Testimonial - Cory Steinburg
This trip was amazing! Full of great friendships and information. The academic load was balanced between fun and adventure! San Salvador's clear blue waters are filled with surprises (and lots of sharks!). I recommend this trip to anyone seeking to advance their knowledge and experience of the ocean!
Kelly Rizzo
I sent my son on this trip to see if marine biology was really what he wanted to study in college (he has said so since he was 6). This trip has just increased his desire ten-fold. He had a wonderful time and is now trying to save towards another Broadreach trip. I think the trip has helped him become more responsible for himself as he needed to be self-motivated towards the academics. As for making friends, a resounding YES! With all the different social media outlets it is very easy for them to maintain contact allowing the friendships to continue. They are already trying to plan a reunion trip next summer. He has had nothing but wonderful things to say about all of the staff and it was nice for him to be able to ask about different paths of study and careers from people who have the same interests and have been or are going through it now. Before he left, his mom and I were concerned about the minimal communication that is allowed during the trip, however the near daily journal entries and accompanying photos put our minds at ease as it was plain to see how much he was enjoying himself. If you are considering a Broadreach trip my advice is to consider it no longer; sign up today!
Armotta Porter
Brianna had an amazing time with the Marine Biology trip. The combination of acedemia and exploration of the area was amazing. The leaders help to form a collaborative team among the students. Brianna is still in contact with all from the trip. They were able to learn and form friendships that will last a life time. We are are already planning for next summer. The leaders Danger Dan, Jurrasic Jen, amd Mayhem Maggie made this a fun learning experience. Each of the students were leaders for a day. When Brianna arrived in the Bahamas, Dan called immediately to let me know she had arrived safely and set up times to be able to talk to Brianna each Saturday. Prior to the trip, throughout the trip, and even now the leaders have emailed and called to discuss details and get feedback. This was an opportunity of a life time and Brianna discusses things from the classroom, dives, and the fun games continually. Brianna learned a lot about the local culture and the students enjoyed a impromtu concert by Esau a local resident. We would recommend Broadreach to all.
Testimonial - John and Holly Bollier from Guilford, CT
We have sent Evan to other marine biology summer camps in the past, but none compare to yours. We were SO pleased with the high level of organization of your outfit, the What's Up communications, the challenging level of the academic program, and (last, but definitely not the least) the counselors who provided such a fun, exciting and rewarding program for the kids. Bravo!
Hannah B. from Simsbury, CT
What a wonderful, eventful trip full of adventures, academics, and new life-long friends. The incredible setting of San Salvador set a perfect scene for us to embark on a new chapter of our lives.; lives to be filled with travel, learning, cultural experiences, and of course science. Every minute has prepared us for all of our future endeavors.ÿ

The MBA adventure trip was so fun! I got the chance to meet some realy amazing people! It was unforgettable. I enjoyed all the dive sites, the cave and our private island. I learned so much. These days will never leave me.
Julie And Michael Irving
This was a fantastic opportunity for our daughter. It has cemented the path that she wants to take for college. After this trip she knows for sure the direction that she is headed. During college application essays when they ask what was the most life-changing even in her life, she responds her broadreach trip and easily writes all of the reasons why. She came home more confident and absolutely driven to accomplish her life goal to go into marine biology. I would send her all over again.
Shelley and Harold Schenker from Asheville, NC
The underwater combination of academic marine studies with advanced dive certifications offered a perfect fun, exciting and educational mix for my son, and being responsible for his own maintenance and equipment among peers and away from his parents and family was a very positive growth experience. Having just returned home, my son still glows, and is excited to describe both diving experiences, instructor enthusiasm and group camaraderie. Thanks.
Emery Kington
I did not know what to expect from this trip and whether I would have as much fun as website testimonials insisted I would. Reflecting on the trip now, any questions seem ridiculous. I have made lifelong friends, learned more than I ever thought I would, and loved my counselors. Some of my favorite parts of this trip were going cave exploring, seeing sea turtles and hammerhead sharks, riding in the back of trucks to different dive sites, and the food!! I had the time of my life!
Grace Bregenzer from San Anselmo, CA
I had a really great time on my trip. All of the diving was amazing, even the shore dives with long surface swims. Even though I was nervous about deeper dives, it was much better than I thought. There is a lot of academic work, but it is all very interesting and worth it. Overall, our group had a lot of fun and good jokes and I only wish we could have more time together.
Testimonial - Laurie Braun
My daughter really enjoyed this trip. She was looking for a summer program that was challenging and interesting and did not have the summer camp atmosphere. Scuba diving had to be a part of any summer plans and this Marine Biology course definitely filled that need. There was plenty of diving and opportunity for multiple diving certifications. Safety came first with Broadreach and my daughter felt very comfortable exploring new depths and pushing herself beyond her comfort zone. All three instructors were always enthusiastic and very knowledgeable. The program did everything it said it would do and then some. As parents, we were extremely pleased with how her three weeks were spent and she will definitely go on another Broadreach adventure next summer.
Mia Fanuzzi from Bronx, NY
I really enjoyed learning how to dive and working with the group to find marine life. I liked group games and activities because it brought us closer together. I also really liked getting to know our instructors and doing fun things with them. Teamwork was really fun when diving, studying and service projects. I learned what living on my own is like and how to meet new people.
Testimonial - Michael Caplin
This trip was excellent in every regard. Well planned, plenty of pre-travel support, excellent staff, substantive classes, good kids, an atmosphere of respectful fun. My daughter had a wonderful time, learned tons, and is begging to travel with Broadreach again next year!
Testimonial - Mia S. from Austin, TX
This trip was super cool, all the dives were amazing and getting to interact with the animals you are learning about is the best. I will always remember this trip; it was 100X better than I expected it to be. I now feel confident in the water and diving. I would recommend this trip to anyone especially if you like marine biology
Testimonial - Ryan Secrist
The trip was amazing! I learned a ton about conservation and biology. I made a bunch of new friends. Favorite activities were diving, the closing ceremonies, the food, and just hanging out with everyone. Seeing sharks up close and learning that they aren't man eating was an eye opener and when I go home I'll probably join a few groups and sign petitions to end shark hunting in the U.S. and shark finning worldwide.
Testimonial - Theo Black
This trip is a lot of fun and also very academically sound. Diving all the reefs with riding rock was great and snorkeling off north point and by greek key were some of my favorites. The experience is super memorable and I made new friends.
Testimonial - Kelly M. from Pudong, Shanghai
This experience allowed me to explore an academic field that I was interested in while being able to dive and see what we were learning about first-hand.
Testimonial - Viviana Barua
She loved the trip, meeting people and making new friends. It was her first time travelling by herself, and very responsible. I felt she was fine, only talked to her twice during her three weeks at camp. She loves diving and will like to pursue and continue the following classes, also is something we can share now as a family, her dad is a Dive Instructor and after her summer camp she has lots of plans. She started year 12th two weeks ago and still has time to decide about universities and future studies. I will truly recommend these summer camps and will love for her to do it again.
Melissa Braun
Broadreach is an amazing program that allows you to do things you would not do if you were just on vacation. The academics related to the activities and places we went and made learning easy. The lectures also help you learn about all kinds of creatures and appreciate the ocean and its offerings so much more.
Sterling C from Atlanta, GA
This trip was definitely memorable and worthwhile. My favorite places were Club Med, the caves, Guanahani Divers and lighthouse. One of my favorite experiences was jumping off the boat with the people on our program. This changed my life by showing me life and culture is very different around the world and we have to embrace and respect that.
Testimonial - Alexandra Barua
I learned so much about the ocean, something beyond the beauty. This was hard work but I felt accomplished and totally worthwhile. I'm going back home with new friends, planning a reunion, and also, Bahamian friends.
Testimonial - Ty Brooks from Alberta, Canada
Trip of a lifetime, an unforgettable experience that I would recommend to anyone interested in marine biology and scuba diving. I had never dived before this trip and now I want to dive every day at places like San Salvador island.
Testimonial - Walker Brown-Adams
The island here is so gorgeous and the reefs are some of the most beautiful places I've seen. The classes were incredible. I was always interested and captivated. I made so many lifelong friends and have so many outstanding memories now. I learned so much about the ocean, myself, and the world on this incredible experience.
Lauren Corbet
This trip was the most amazing three weeks of my life. I met great people and forged lasting friendships. And I got to learn how to save the oceans: all while having a blast!

Fiji Shark Studies

Testimonial - Cheryl and Lee Cherney from Delray Beach, FL
Once again, Merry had an amazing summer with Broadreach. The diving surpassed her expectations, the academics were rewarding and the trip leaders were superior. Every aspect of the process from the sign-up to the trip execution was well thought out and planned. My daughter has seen the world, made amazing friends, experienced different cultures, and developed a passion for SCUBA diving with a first rate operation. I would certainly recommend your programs. I am once again amazed that Merry returned home from her "best summer yet". That is always her quote after her trips, and each year her experience seems to outdo the last.
James R. Johnson from Atlanta, GA
This was a very valuable experience for Mary Morgan. She matured socially, having to get to know well 11 strangers. She also developed a heightened sense of conservation and an appreciation for the Fijian culture. She liked the local dive operators very much and the village people. She was absolutely thrilled with the quality of the diving. She is normally shy and quiet, but she was absolutely energized by the dives, especially the wreck dives. This trip had the right balance of safety and excitement. It required her to be tough and didn't coddle her, but she also felt comfortable and secure.
Testimonial - Christina and Ernst Bruderer from Hilton Head Island, SC
I highly recommend the Broadreach programs to any family. There was not one time when I felt Broadreach did not perform at its best. Safety and security are always top concerns. My son participated in a Broadreach program for the second year in a row and would do it again. We are definitely going to "spread the word" about your awesome programs!
Christine and Robert Holo from New York, NY
The trip was wonderful, the diving was awesome, the instructors were smart, nice and helpful, and the other kids were all friendly. The process was also very smooth from my perspective. The Broadreach team was always responsive and helpful. Great job! The leaders on Johanna's boat were amazing. Johanna had only wonderful things to say about them. I hope you hire them again next year. They did everything right!
Katie Morrison from Napanee, ON
This trip was my 4th Broadreach trip and it was by far my favorite! The mixture of shark diving, soft coral diving and cultural experiences was perfect. The academics were challenging and a lot of learning that was nothing short of worth it! This is one of Broadreach's best trips!
Garnett Swain
My shark studies trip was fantastic! Being so close to the sharks completely changed my perspective and the academic portion made me realize how important sharks are to the entire world, not just the ocean. I also really enjoyed the complete submersion in the Fijian culture. My homestay family was very welcoming and I enjoyed every moment I spent with them. Hiking up to the waterfall and playing games with the children are only some of the unforgettable experiences I had in Beqa. The people on my trip were great, my instructors were professional and really fun to be around. I've come to realize that the instructors on all Broadreach trips are the very best. I made wonderful friends on my trip that made the program so much more exciting and enjoyable. There are so many countless memories that were made on my trip that I will remember forever.
Haley McHugh from Wilton, CT
This trip was truly life-changing. Fiji is full of breathtaking views and beautiful people that treat you like family. I learned so much about the culture and, of course, the sharks. The dives were beyond my wildest dreams, with sharks coming so close that I could have reached out and touched them. There was work, but if you have a passion for marine life it is actually quite fun and interesting. And the instructors were absolutely amazing. I will never forget the friendships I made and the experiences I had.
Testimonial - Charlotte Yeh from Dedham, MA
We were so impressed by the social, educational and personal growth our daughter gained in such a short time that has sustained itself in the months since her return. I have seen a new passion for the oceans and for cultures past and present that has enriched her appreciation of others.
Erin O'Reilly
This trip was absolutely amazing! I loved the homestay, funyaking, and all of the shark dives! This trip really expanded my knowledge of sharks and marine eco-systems as a whole. I loved every minute of it, and will never forget all of the friends I made and all of our incredible memories. I hope everyone who goes on this trip in the future has the same amazing experience that I had!
Forrest Floyd
Shark Studies was a great trip. I was expecting to see a few sharks but instead I saw at least fifty every day if not more. The village stay was great and the locals were loads of fun. If you are interested in sharks I would highly recommend this trip.
Helen Downes from New York, NY
This trip was truly exceptional. I learned about the world we live in and how to help it, and the shark dives elevated the learning experience to a while new level. I never thought I'd be able to study sharks so close up and have gained a new appreciation for these vulnerable animals. Our group was welcomed into Fiji with open arms, creating a home for us here. Now I can go home with unbelievable stories, an open mind and the passion to make a difference in the world.
Julia Griessmann
This trip really opened my eyes to the Fijian culture and increased my respect for sharks and marine life. I love that this trip has academic portions mixed with the diving, because then you get to learn about what you dive with each day. The culture here is so interesting and the Fijians are so nice. I met so many awesome people. I know I want to major in Marine Biology, and cant wait to learn more about the ocean and its inhabitants.
Maddy B. from Montreal, Canada
Fiji Shark Studies was absolutely life-changing. Almost every day we went on shark dives then learned about them in the afternoon, furthering our understanding of what we observed in the dives. We had the chance to visit the local international school and run around with children, as well as stay in a village on Beqa Island, where we met perhaps the most generous, welcoming, and incredible people I have ever had the privilege to interact with. We heard stories about Fijian culture and laughed hysterically with the dive staff while warming up on surface intervals, sipping on hot tea and eating cookies. I was constantly amazed and beyond belief of how much fun the academics were and can say without a doubt that I have made friendships that will last a lifetime.
Laura Reul
This was unlike anything I've experienced before. Every aspect about this program was planned exceptionally well to make my trip a trip of a lifetime. Some of my favorite moments are the village stays at Beqa Island, the spectacular diving, and the exploring of beautiful Fiji. I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone interested in a trip they will treasure for the rest of his/her life.
Testimonial - Linda Scalf-McIver from Tampa, FL
This is a first-class experientially based program for teens that helps them become better stewards of the earth, themselves, and each other. Our daughter can't stop talking about it!
Julia Packman
This trip was one of the best experiences of my life. We got to dive everyday with the welcoming and smiling staff at the dive shop, and swim with the most majestic creatures. In addition, we got to experience the culture of the island through village stays, kava ceremonies, and service. Fiji is one of the most amazing places in the world, and I honestly wish I could repeat this program again.
Mia Silbert from Austin, TX
Everything about this trip was amazing. Probably one of the best Broadreach trips one could do if you love to dive and are interested in sharks at all. The diving was incredible, as was getting to learn about sharks and what truly amazing creatures they are. It really has made me think about whether or not I am making sustainable choices. Also it was incredible to be immersed in and learn about Fijian culture.
Kelsey C. from Charleston, SC
This experience was amazing and anyone that loves the ocean will enjoy this trip. Learning and simultaneously diving with sharks is a rare and amazing experience. This course helped me decide that I want to be involved with sharks and the ocean for the rest of my life. I learned so much about sharks and can't wait to learn more in the future. The diving was a blast and the local dive staff are so friendly. This experience was so memorable and I cannot recommend it more.
Maggie R. from Gloucester, MA
Fiji Shark Studies is the first Broadreach trip I have ever done and I am completely satisfied with the outcome. Not many 17-year-olds can say they've gone diving with up to 60 bull sharks at the best shark dive in the WORLD. I had an amazing time getting to know the culture of Fiji as well as making some great new friends. I will never forget my time in Fiji thanks to this trip and the amazing people who run it.
Margaret Loncki
This trip was amazing! Fiji was awesome and being able to do over 20 shark dives was incredible. Our homestay in Beqa was so much fun and everyone was so nice. The local dive shop was amazing and I loved the staff. I learned so much about the sharks and I want to do more with them in the future. The instructors were amazing and I would recommend this trip to anyone.
Marley K. from Greenwich, CT
I was a little nervous to dive with sharks, but I soon became fascinated by everything about them. The dives were amazing, as were the staff at the dive shop. I learned so much more about the ocean and Fiji. I met other kids that shared my love for Marine Biology and it was great to spend time with them. This trip went above all expectations I had and it is definitely something I will remember for the rest of my life.
Margaret Bruck
This being my second Broadreach trip, I can say that they have successfully changed my life, twice. First, sparking my passion for travelling and seeing the world, and second, helping me decide that I would like to become a shark biologist. Thank you Broadreach, for yet another amazing summer.
Mathew Andrade
Chance of a lifetime. If you love sharks you will be stunned beyond belief. The experiences can be life changing and you will never forget this trip.
Karl Johansson
This trip was one of the best experiences of my life. I've made so many new friends that I think will last for a while. Seeing the massive bull sharks on the dives was mind-blowing. Staying with the villages was the coolest thing ever. I love my Fijian family and I would definitely recommend this trip to everyone.
Megan Buras from Kailua, HI
This trip was amazing. We learned about sharks, Fijian culture and the environment. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. I've never seen so much soft coral in my life. From drift diving, to shark diving, to exploring the capital of Fiji and visiting a traditional village, this trip was an incredible experience.
Paige R. from New York, NY
Having previously done a Broadreach trip, I had a general idea of what I thought this trip would be like. I was nervous about the academics, excited for the shark dives, and hopeful of a group that would get along well. This trip has exceeded all my expectations. The academics were challenging but incredibly rewarding. I loved learning so much information in such a short amount of time and being able to apply that knowledge while we observed the diverse and abundant marine life on both our shark dives and coral reef dives. During the shark dives I sat there in awe as 50 bull sharks scrambled for the same tuna head, or when the white tip reef sharks would swim inches away from your face and brush you with their tail.
Perri Rappaport from Bethesda, MD
This is probably one of the coolest things I've ever done. You get to dive with sharks everyday and also experience the Fijian culture. Everything we did was amazing and the trip was very well organized. The instructors and the group were all amazing people.
Rebecca Flowers
Fiji Shark Studies is nothing like anything you've ever experienced before. The people you met are so kind and amazing, the culture is so rich, the sharks are so gentle, the conservation efforts are so apparent, and the work is so inspiring. In all honesty, this trip changed my life. This is what I want to do. For me, to study sharks is my best possible future. Broadreach gave that to me.
Sander Elliott
This trip was my first Broadreach trip, and it was absolutely amazing. I loved diving with sharks, being emerged in Fijian culture and making great new friends. The soft coral dives were fantastic as well and the dive shop staff were so welcoming and they became like a second family to us. In all it was an experience that I will remember for the rest of my life.
Stephanie Hopp from Los Angeles, CA
We are all so sad to leave, yet smile when we reflect on all of the fun times we have had here. From our first shark and coral dives to whitewater kayaking, we have all had the time of our lives. Learning about sharks, their ecosystems and conservation, has increased our knowledge of these mysterious marine animals within such a short period of time.
Sydney B. from Darien, CT
Fiji shark studies is a truly unbelievable experience. Shark diving is such an awe-inspiring thing that really opens your eyes to the world, both above and below the surface. In addition to the sharks, the Fijian people are so welcoming and really make you part of their family. I cannot wait to come back to Fiji!
Tessa Peixoto
This trip was amazing to discover the Fijian culture, language, and the diving. You feel so welcome and the second you land in Fiji making the trip have so much more flow. The village, and everything, was fabulous.
Marko J. from Overland Park, KS
Fiji is one of the most beautiful countries I've ever dreamed of and Broadreach allowed me to actually appreciate it instead of staying at a resort. Trust me, you might see the word "shark" in the title and think "I'm scared of those evil animals" but they are so much more than that and through this trip I was able to discover their beauty, sophistication, and power. Don't be dissuaded by your fears, face them head on and dive with sharks and immerse yourself in Fijian culture. It's the trip of a lifetime, don't miss out on the chance to experience it.
Testimonial - Cindy Gilston
Justin had a wonderful time on the trip. He enjoyed the diving, living arrangements, and the course study. I think the way the program was arranged gave him a nice variety of experiences and allowed for a great deal of independence and personal growth. I would definitely recommend Broadreach and the shark study program.
Audria Dennen
The exoticness and magic of Fiji brought to the trip something a little extra- and shark diving was incredible. You get to do something most people never, ever will, and that's irreplaceable.
Jo Holo
This trip was amazing. Everything was great, but I especially loved the village stay in Beqa and the academics. Learning new things was one reason the trip was so worthwhile.
Will Rittenhouse
Diving with sharks was one of the most incredible experiences of my life. The homestay experience taught me a lot about myself. Overall, an incredible trip. I can't wait to come back next year.

Curaçao Advanced Marine Biology

Jules Portnoy from Maplewood, NJ
The Curacao Advanced Marine Biology program is perfect for anyone full of wanderlust with a strong passion for the ocean and marine science. Being able to expand my knowledge on coral was an eye-opening experience that only further reinforced my love for the ocean and the beauties of the natural world. The ability to dive with such magnificent creatures including octopus, squid and sea turtles is amazing. For aspiring marine biologists this course is great to better understand working in the field.
Caroline Cassese from East Greenwich, RI
This was my first Broadreach trip and first time doing a program like this, where you are completely immersed in a new place. I learned a lot about the oceans, became a better diver and got to explore a part of the world that I have never seen before. My favorite thing about the program was the diving because we would learn a new skill and then immediately be able to apply it underwater. I really enjoyed this trip and all of the experiences it offered in and out of the water.
Testimonial - Hyeonmok 'Henry' Ko from Seoul, South Korea
Where do you find yourself this summer? In a research lab? Straying away from school and exploring the world? Why not integrate the two and enjoy a challenging and fulfilling 3 weeks in the beautiful shores of Curacao? I was looking for a program that would integrate my passion for marine science and research and if you relate, this program is for you.
Christian Pagel from Fernandina Beach, FL
My favorite experiences were living at a research station to really immerse yourself in the lifestyle and having a beautiful dive spot on the property. I loved traveling around the island to dive spots like the turtle beach. I liked being able to do my independent research project and learning more about the oceans. It was very memorable and one of the most fun experiences I've ever had, it definitely made me love marine science more than ever.
Olivia Siudak from Racine, WI
This was my second Broadreach trip and it was just as fun and exciting as the first. I loved getting to know a new island and staying in one place for three weeks. I loved all of the diving all around the island, the hike to Mt. Christoffel and the ostrich farm. We learned so much about culture and marine biology. I wouldn't trade this opportunity for the world.
David M. (age 16) from Cincinnati, OH
This trip was awesome! The lectures were awesome! It was so cool to go diving so much and see what we talked about in the class. Climbing mount Christoffel was so much fun and beach time at pig beach was awesome. Our trip was amazing.
Olivia F. (age 16) from Glen Ellyn, IL
Broadreach students can learn to live in new environments unlike what they are are used to. You meet new people and have new experiences that you cannot have on a family vacation. You learn so much new stuff about marine bio.

Caribbean Tropical Marine Biology

Lisa C. from Merrick, NY
Testimonial - Krenare Loxha
This trip completely took me out of my boundaries but was worthwhile. Not only was the diving amazing, but I also enjoyed the academics and how it tied in with the locations we went to.

Fiji Shark Behavior & Conservation

Aadil N. from Columbia, MO
This was so much more than a college course; it was an experience that allowed me to learn, appreciate and experience the best parts of Fijian culture. I did not even think that was going to be part of the trip. Broadreach was not just studying abroad, it was learning to integrate into the culture and learning as much as we could about the people. I will forever suggest Broadreach to peers who are considering studying abroad.
Jessica O. from Center Moriches, NY
This experience was so much more than I was expecting. I got the opportunity to dive with some of the most amazing creatures on Earth, on one of the most beautiful reefs I have ever seen. Afterwards I learned about conservation of the underwater environment and specifically sharks in an open, comfortable, and often very passionate atmosphere. My fellow students are now some of my best friends, and people that I will remain in contact with forever. The two trip leaders I had, Mike and Honey, have given me so much, but most of all have inspired me to stay passionate and to use that passion to do things that can change the world in regards to the environment and conservation.
Aspasia Oosterwijk
We want to sincerely thank you for the extraordinary experience our daughter Kiki had on her incredible Fiji adventure. It was better than all of us could have ever imagined! She had the time of her life and surely a trip never to be forgotten! She absolutely loved diving with the sharks and can't stop talking about it (and it's already a week since she's returned home). She met all new wonderful friends who share the same interests and passion for diving and shark research. Kiki had only positive comments about Karen and Dave (her instructors), including "they are so knowledgable", as well as the dive staff! Your program is exceptional and you have achieved the goal of creating a life-changing experience that goes well beyond the classroom as you said in your thank you email. From the start of researching this program, Imogen was a pleasure to deal with, as was June from the travel agency. Receiving a call from Dave before the trip was comforting as well. Then to see the amazing photos and updates to keep us apprised of the daily happenings of our daughter's life changing experience was just the best! Kudos to you and your staff for a truly fantastic trip and fulfilling my daughter's dream since she was a little girl ... "to dive with the sharks"!
Chelsea B. from Arden, NC
This was the most unique experiences of my life. I have always known I would do Marine Biology but after this trip I am certain my field will be shark conservation. I have been dreading graduating college this upcoming year, but now I am excited to go into the world and make a difference with this new found knowledge.
Mallory M. from Towson, MD
I have learned more than I ever imagined I would and not just academically, though I learned a ton about sharks and conservation. I learned about different cultures- how they live, their traditions, etc. One thing I learned from the Fijians is to be happy and joyful in whatever you do. They always had a smile on their face and were extremely welcoming of us into their culture. I learned about diving-oh, so much about diving; especially diving with sharks. I am proud to say that I feel so comfortable scuba diving now. I learned about my instructors and now best friends. We all came in knowing nothing about each other and left as a family and as lifelong friends. I know I will be visiting each one in the future; I can't imagine not involving them in my future. Most importantly I learned about myself; to take a leap of faith, to try new things and to enjoy each day to the fullest. Be kind (like the Fijians), ask questions (in lecture), take a risk (the whole shark dive thing), and be open to all people. Lastly, I re-affirmed my passion for conservation, and I met so many people who I can talk to about and connections for my future. I want to work with marine life and conservation, while integrating local cultures. I never thought about these approaches until this program. I am now ready to take yet another leap of faith and chase after what I want my future to be. I have the confidence.
Charlotte Francisco from Groton, MA
Shark Behavior and Conservation in Fiji helped me learn so much about the importance of sharks and their behavior. It really inspired me to be passionate about my interest in marine science and sharks in general. I also learned a lot about Fijian culture and my admiration for the country and the natives is so much more than I anticipated.
Christine Irvin
The Fiji Shark Behavior and Conservation Studies program was amazing. It pushed me out of my comfort zone and reinforced my love of the ocean and environment. Although the shark dives were incredible, the most rewarding experiences were on land. I enjoyed helping out for community service and the village homestay was truly an eye opening experience. I was able to meet new friends along the way, be immersed in the Fijian culture, and experience a trip of a lifetime, thanks to Broadreach.
Testimonial - Alyssa C. from Bellaire, TX
This trip was very special to me. It helped me to further explore my interest in Marine Biology and sharks. I really loved the work we did and hope I can continue it. It will help me make some decisions on a college major as well. Also, I learned to live with others and to learn about them as people. Experiencing this new culture was also an amazing experience. I want to try and do more of that when I travel next. This trip has most definitely left its mark on me as a person and I will take what I learned with me.
Claire S. from Astoria, NY
I can barely form words in my head for this trip, but I'll do my best. This experience has been absolutely unreal. I learned so much about shark behavior and conservation and will definitely try to spread my knowledge. Along with that, I can't even begin to express how honored I am to have been accepted into the Fijian culture. The dive staff were so welcoming and I feel as if I have a family away from home. I will miss everyone greatly.
Testimonial - Danielle Barbiero from Brockport, NY
This trip was an experience of a lifetime and fulfilled all my expectations. The shark dives are incredible and unforgettable. The trip to Beqa Island was amazing. The people you meet on this trip are invaluable if you are pursuing a career in biology or conservation.
Grace K. from Brooklyn, NY
The people I met, our instructors, group members, dive masters and biologists; it felt like family on and off the boat. I learned a lot about myself and the goals I need to set in order to make me a better/happier person. All through taking and interacting with people of different experience levels.
Catherine Santiago
This trip was the best way we could have immersed ourselves into the Fijian culture. We learned about the culture and the local problems which made you care and understand it more. I loved the cultural experience we got from the village visit and I feel that I actually saw the true Fiji and not just the grand tourist destination.
Ben B. from Barrington, RI
When I signed up for this trip, I had no idea what I was in for. All I knew was that I would get to dive with sharks and go to Fiji . What I did not know was how much I would learn about myself through building a small family of like-minded peeps. Not only do I return home with a wealth of knowledge about the local ecosystems and cultures, but with 9 friends (including the instructors) who I feel as close and comfortable with as I do with my own family. And that is truly priceless.
Marieke Oosterwijk
This trip was an experience of a lifetime. I was slightly nervous about being homesick since we were so far away, but as soon as we got here we had warm and welcoming instructors and seven great kids. The shark dives were incredible and like nothing Ive ever seen before. There are no words to describe the feeling of being face to face with majestic and magnificent, yet feared creatures in the Pacific Ocean. The Fijian natives were all so friendly and the dive staff was extremely helpful. The Broadreach was an amazing time and cant wait to come back.
Natalia Schoenberg
This trip was the perfect way to combine the cultural experience of a different country with the academic experience of my personal subject of focus. Whether we were diving with sharks or living with a traditional Fijian family, there wasn't a single moment in which I didn't feel like I was gaining life experiences that I couldn't get anywhere else in the world.
Patrick Goebel from Independence, OH
This was the best trip I have ever been on. Diving with the bull sharks is an unbelievable experience. Pictures, videos and words cannot even come close to what you actually see and feel like when you are in the water with the sharks. I would do this program again in a heartbeat!
Victoria Gomez
Life Changing! This trip help solidify my choice of becoming a Marine Biologist. Not only did it give me the passion to push on but pulled me in a totally different direction. If it weren't for this trip I wouldn't be who I am today nor living up to my full potential. From jumping in the water with heaps of sharks, to volunteering in a Fijian village, this trip opened my eyes to a world I never knew exsisted. A MUST DO! SO AMAZING!!! Best diving I have done anywhere in the world.
Sarah B. from Triplett, MO
I've done two Broadreach trips now and this trip has exceeded my expectations greatly. Both were wonderful but I felt in Fiji I had a home away from home with the dive masters and the Fijian culture. Everyone is so welcoming and sweet. It's definitely a place to visit!
Testimonial - Lauren Torres from Hollywood, FL
Onshore experiences were some of the most memorable parts of the trip. For example, meeting the children and painting schools in small Fijian villages gave the whole group an amazing feeling. The people are warm and welcoming. They treat you as family and are grateful to have you visit and help out.
Testimonial - Ryan Djay from Kirkland, WA
The diving was the best I have ever done and Fiji was a beautiful place to call home for a month. I am going to try to take home the joy I have found here.
Scott Dalquist
O.M.G. Best trip of my life!! I will never forget this!!

Medicine

Costa Rica Intro to Medicine 12-Day Adventure

Emma C. from Raleigh, NC
The clinic was such an interesting and new way to see the medical world. It gives you opportunities to experience medicine first-hand as a high school student. This trip made me excited to do more traveling in the future!
Rebecca D. from McLean, VA
I was expecting to just learn about medicine, which we definitely did, but we also explored cultural differences and even a little history. Costa Rica was one of the best experiences of my life and I'll never forget the people I met, the places I visited or the things I did.
Testimonial - Annette Davis from Los Angeles, CA
Shane had the most amazing time at this program in Costa Rica. He has bonded for life with 11 other kids from around the nation, and has matured in a way that I could not have imagined. It was such a wonderful experience for him in every way, specially because he was terrified before he made the trip. This was the first time he's flown by himself, or been in a different country by himself. So thank you all for making him feel safe, happy and just a little bit out of his comfort zone, so that he can see that new adventures may be a little scary at first, but the eventual experience is priceless. Thank you again and look forward to more Broadreach programs for both my boys.
Grace S. from Elkhorn, NE
My favorite place was the clinic and shadowing the doctors. I learned and talked to the community and I was able to get a better understanding of what I want to do in the future.
Colleen Martin from Richmond Heights, OH
The trip was a once in a lifetime experience and we really bonded over our community service in the clinic and our interest in the medical field. It was something that I will never forget.
Katherine Unger
I've never been among so many different people and cultures. The new adventures, experiences, medicine and people I interacted with I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
Sophia Donovan
The trip was a really great experience for me. There were lots of fun new things to do/try here and the culture is amazing. Costa Rica is a gorgeous place and 10/10 will come back. My favorite part was clinic work and exploring the new culture.

Ecuador Medical Spanish

Abigail S. from Winchester, VA
Testimonial - Melanie Thompson Coquitlam from British Columbia
Grace B. from Austin, TX
Testimonial - Marta Phillips from Darien, CT
Broadreach provided the opportunity to explore Ecuador: climb mountains, learn to weave, live with a family, dance around fires, and make new friends with peers from different parts of the country. Sarah is now starved for more adventures. Thank you!
Lauren H. from Durham, NC
Testimonial - Robin and John Parsons from Chicago, IL
Our daughter had an amazing trip. Thank you! Charlotte's Spanish improved incredibly, and she loved her host family as well as the kids on her trip and leaders. It was a fabulous experience!
Dyan Simon from Key Biscane, FL
Jared had a fantastic time. He totally bonded with the group and felt that he made wonderful friends. It was nice that it was a small group. He came home saying he was more confident in his speaking fluency in spanish and that was very important to us. I never was concerned about his safety, I felt like he was in good hands having met Ben at the airport. The only negative that I heard from him was the packing list. It only focused on the hiking portion so we really didn't pack enough clothes but he managed.
Testimonial - Emily Carney from Chicago, IL
My home-stay experience was really valuable. I was able to grow closer with my friends and family and learn lots of new Spanish.
Sarah Acselrod from Westport, CT
I loved how we were able to do unique activities in different places all over Ecuador. Group bonding in the secluded and cozy lodge in Cotopaxi, Spanish class by the beaches in Montañita, clinics in Riobamba and adventures in Baños were all great experiences and helped us get to know the country.

This was my son's second trip with Broadreach. He enjoyed the program and the leaders. Each time he attends one of Broadreach's programs, he comes back with more confidence and awareness. We felt comfortable sending him with Broadreach, because of the quality of the leaders and the program planning. While he was away, we received a daily blog about their activities. Each day a different student wrote about their experience, this gave us an expansive view of his trip plus we were able to learn about the other students. Our son's take away from his summer experiences allow him a greater appreciation of his life, family and his talents.
Catherine Nohre
This trip was absolutely brilliant. From the moment we arrived, the group clicked, and our adventrure in the rainforest and ATM caves at the beginning really bonded us for our WFR course with our fantabulous instructor Dave. All the locations were wonderful, from the awesome rainforest to the beautiful and all around idyllic Long Caye. The community service in San Ignacio was really cool, especially at the hospital where I got to help in the ER and visit the morgue. All in all, this trip was an amazing experience that I would repeat in a heartbeat.
Emily T. from Easton, MD
This trip has made me much more of a confident person. I loved bonding and being weird with everyone because I realized that I didn't have to be anything but myself. Learning how to handle emergency medical situations and getting the opportunity to lead has been an amazing experience and I am so thankful to have gone on this trip.
Alaina Lapanse
The trip was really incredible. Our entire group got along perfectly right away and all of the things we did (swimming, hiking, snorkeling, etc.) made it even better. Best of all our WFR course was so interesting and the instructor Dave is the best ever.
Mary S. Shain from St. Thomas, VI
My son is thinking about becoming a doctor. That is why we chose this trip. When he came home, the first thing he said to me was "I want to work at the hospital after school." I handed him the stethoscope and blood pressure cuff I bought for him while he was away. He was ecstatic. He is checking my blood pressure 3 times a week. The trip was the right amount of challenging academics, adventure and cultural experience, and it seems to have confirmed his career choice.
Testimonial - Samantha Kitchen
This trip was one of the best experiences of my life. I loved all the places we went and I made friends that I will never forget. The WFR course was tough, but we got through it as a group and it really brought us closer together. For anyone considering a career in medicine or who just loves the outdoors, this is a great trip!
Testimonial - Carey Celata
The staff on this trip made everything so great. The amazing activities that we did were awesome throughout the 3 weeks. The WFR course was so much fun and very interesting. All the people were nice and I will always remember this trip.

This is a fantastic trip for everyone, whether they're interested in medicine or not. The WFR course is lots of fun, and the rest of the trip is filled with adventures, interesting academics, and opportunities to meet great new people.
Dultha Gallaher from East Hampton, NY
This trip can potentially be life changing for the person that goes on it. Each experience was methodically thought out and performed brilliantly. Some of the favorites were getting up close and personal with sharks, eel and stingrays while snorkeling. This trip changed my life by providing me with new experiences.
Lori Hoch from Brookville, NY
Doug is home, safe and sound and in possession of memories of the adventure of his life! In addition to the pride in his own ability to meet challenges previously unimagined, the fun he had with the terrific group of participants, now all his close friends, is what made the trip unforgettable. And from a parent perspective, I can't thank you enough for the online updates! We were thrilled each day to share glimpses of the kids' experiences with detail and humor in their own words. All in all, the Wilderness Medicine program was a complete success and far exceeded our expectations!
Testimonial - Emma Huston
My Broadreach trip was amazing. Although I was nervous, all my worries paid off. The WFR course was actually really fun, and the community service was very enlightening. I made great friends, and got along with everyone well. Awesome experience overall!
Teresa Kropp from St Petersburg, FL
Our son just came back from the trip of a lifetime with Broadreach! Not only did he come home with his Wilderness First Responder Certification, but also wonderful new friends from across the country, great outdoor experiences and terrific memories of Belize. He gave the trip an A++ rating!
Melissa Stafford from Littleton, CO
This was a terrific trip for my daughter. Although the WFR class was a lot of work, she really enjoyed it and learned so much. She absolutely love working in the clinic, and that confirmed to her that she'd like to pursue a career in medicine. She embraced the cultural experience and homestay, and learned to deal with different people and different situations. She came home more confident, sensitive and aware. I know she'll never forget the trip or the friends she made.
Jeff Baierlein from Chesapeake, VA
Dear Broadreach, I have had the pleasure of working with Adam Walters and Liz Wilmers this past week, as the Wilderness First Responder instructor for the Wilderness & Traditional Medicine 11 course in Belize. Liz and Adam impressed me greatly with their professionalism, group management skills, and ability to work with teenagers. Their remarkable sensitivity to the developmental needs of teenagers, their ability to be gentle and encouraging yet set firm boundaries, and their skill in expertly blending summertime fun with serious academic learning was a pleasure to witness. I was impressed with their risk management, ability to adjust activities and progressions on the fly, and overall program leadership. In my 24 years of professional experience in outdoor education, I have rarely come across an instructor team quite like this. They are a credit to Broadreach, and it was my genuine pleasure to work with them both. Sincerely, Jeff Baierlein Lead Instructor, Wilderness Medical Associates, Executive Director, Baltimore Chesapeake Bay Outward Bound Center
Galilea Escobedo from Houston, TX
The best part of this trip was going to the ATM caves, because there is no other place like it. Also the Mayan ritual because that is a once in a lifetime thing. I learned to try new things, step out of my comfort zone and to stop over analyzing everything because a lot of things are a once in a lifetime experience. The whole trip was great because the people made it so much better and I definitely made lifelong friends.
Testimonial - Jenn Sirotkin
I loved all the places we stayed. All of it was great, especially the kids and leaders. I figured out what I want to do in life. It was especially memorable and worthwhile. I made friends that are now my family.

I thought this trip was amazing. I loved every place we went to and I was always sad to leave them. All the excursions we went on, such as the ATM cave, Mayan ruins and snorkeling were incredible. The WFR course was so great and our instructor was amazing. You learn so much but have so much fun! The people I met, the things I learned, everything I saw was perfect and I will never forget these 3 weeks.

In just this short period of time I see a change in David's appreciation for the environment, sensitivity towards a different culture and an overall maturity. The experience confirmed his desire to work in the healthcare field and to pursue further opportunities to do community and volunteer work.
Testimonial - Mary Lee Williams from Lebanon, IL
Daphne thought this was the best trip. She liked the different locations, the goal/process of getting her wilderness certificate, and all the changing aspects of the trip. She loved the challenge of successfully overcoming all the obstacles!
Testimonial - Madelaine Hack
Not only did we learn so much, but we were able to tour the country and see some amazing sights. There were underwater caves, Mayan ruins, Jaguars and beaches. But besides the sights there were the experiences with the group when we would be sitting under the stars and I could only think about how I didn't want to be anywhere else.
Testimonial - Leanna Smith
I loved every minute of this trip from climbing the Mayan ruins to re-enacting casualties in WFR to spending the day snorkeling on Caye Caulker. Everything was so much fun and interesting and I participated in everything surrounded by some of the most amazing students and leaders I have ever met.
Jennifer Wise from Livermore, CA
I loved my trip to Belize. All the places we stayed were beautiful. Seeing the ATM caves was so different from anything I've done before. The group leaders, WFR teachers and other people on the program made getting through WFR enjoyable. I will always remember this trip and my new friends.
Testimonial - Leah Tavasi
Doing the entire WFR course was very satisfying. I feel confident now to help people in a wilderness context and hope to use my skills in the near future.
Jonah Pregulman
I went on this trip 2 years ago. It was one of the best summers of my life. Between caving, hanging out with friends, leaning WFR skills and volunteering there was never a dull moment. This trip started my interest in the medical field, I am now an EMT and going to nursing school. This course was a huge advantage in my EMT class, I went into it knowing half the knowledge all ready! I still keep in touch with my trip mates and even my WFR instructor Jeff! Best Trip Ever!
Abby Leibowitz
When you look back on your trip, you won't think "I did one really amazing thing", you'll realize that you did hundreds of amazing things every day.

Italy Introduction to Photography

Winn Bartos from Washington, DC
Going on this trip will open you up to new cultures, ideas and activities that you would never do otherwise. I'm glad that I went on this trip because it helped me to learn to try new things while teaching me. This trip can allow you to meet new people that you would never meet otherwise and who you will become amazing friends with. So if you are not sure if you want to go on a trip, just go on it because you will have an incredible time.
Eliana Spierer from Paradise Valley, AZ
I loved going to little towns and seeing real Italian life. I will remember this trip for the rest of my life. I loved it so so much. I don't love to step outside of my comfort zone but on this trip I really did go out of my comfort zone and I loved every minute of it.
Kerri Belguendouz from Concord, MA
I feel the program taught me a lot, both in an academic standpoint and social. I have learned a lot about my camera and how to produce quality photos. I have also expanded my knowledge of a new culture and learned that I am able to overcome my personal challenges.
Éliane Paré from Levis, Quebec
My trip with Broadreach Introduction to Photography was amazing. I loved learning about new camera functions and using them during the trip. We traveled to many different places all over Italy and learning about all the different cultures. I would recommend this trip to anyone interested in photography and traveling.
Braeden Acselrod from Westport, CT
I loved learning and traveling around Italy. I had an amazing time learning about all new different cultures, photography tricks and people. This was the 2 best weeks of my life and I hope everyone can do something like this. I learned about how well you can get to know someone in such a short time.
Ariana Garcia from Sharon, MA
Throughout this trip, I have experienced many new things while traveling with new people who have experienced many new things as well, making it feel as if I have known them longer than 2 weeks. In addition, we each grew together; learning about photography and other skills as well.
Clara Goldthwaite from Mountain Lakes, NJ
I really enjoyed the critiques. Mostly because many artists cannot get better without thoughtful critiquing. I feel like I grew my photo skills in those 1 hour sessions. As it's described, Italy intro to photography is just that. We learn about basics like exposure, and all that comes with it, as well as composition. I really enjoyed everything on this trip. I particularly enjoyed the boat trip in Cinque Terre.
Eloise Stikeleather from Canton, MA
My favorite activities on this trip were going to a local camp and taking pictures of the kids. It was challenging because there was a language barrier, however, I really enjoyed working with the kids. Another part of the trip that I enjoyed was the scenery. Italy is extremely beautiful, both in nature and the culture.
Sebastian Hatier-Riess from Santa Fe, NM
Cinque Terre area was incredible. I enjoyed the boat ride the most because I got to connect to some people more. Lake Como was another fun place. The activities there were a blast and the photo opportunities were always present.

A note to Carlton Goldthwaite, Broadreach founder: Thank you for creating Broadreach. Our daughter, Cecilia, is on your Panama Photography Expedition, and tracking her adventures has been one of the highlights of our summer. You and your team do a beautiful job of creating varied experiences for exploration, coupled with intense instruction and opportunities for leadership. My only wish is that there were an adult program equivalent! A million thanks and congratulations on a job well done!
Adelaide Conway
This trip was one I will never forget. I loved every place we visited in Panama, especially Boquette and Santa Catalina. My favorite activity was rock climbing in Boquette because I got out of my comfort zone and this ended up paying off because I reached the top. I learned many important photography skills that I will implement in my future career. I made a lot of new friends from all over the country and Im excited to stay in touch with them. This experience changed my life because I gained a new sense of fearlessness that I want to implement in my life.
Testimonial - Autumn W. from Mount Juliet, TN
I definitely recommend this trip for anyone who wants to learn about photography and culture, get close to the Panamanian people and try new activities. Casa Cayuco was my favorite place because of the community and the wildlife there. I also loved surfing and the hikes. I learned a lot about photography and the culture here. It was the most memorable thing I've experienced and I'll never forget the friends I made and the impact the service work had in my life.
Abby K. from Short Hills, NJ
I am so incredibly happy I chose to do this program this summer. I have made amazing friends and memories that will last me my whole life. Panama was absolutely gorgeous and I especially loved Boquete and Bocas del Torro. From snorkeling, surfing and rafting to trying new fruits, I was always surprised with how amazing everything was. Along with fun memories I have also gained a lot of knowledge I am 100 times better at photography, and I know more about global footprints and life. From animals to different cultures, I will miss this trip dearly.
Allison Knudsen
I loved everything about this trip. I enjoyed being able to learn so much about photography, and still be able to do activities such as surf, hike, rock climb, raft, and have such amazing adventures. I became so close with the people over these three weeks. I couldn't have asked for a better time.
Emma Morrissey
The whole trip was amazing. Perfect amount of action time and chill out time. I love Boquette the most, the mountains were beautiful, and white water rafting was incredible. I learned so much about photography. I went from using my camera all on auto to using it completely manually in a couple of days. The people on my trip really improved the experience!
Isabella Herman
I made new amazing friends and honestly, loved every moment of this trip. From working in Salt Creek to rock climbing, it was all worth it. I came into this program knowing nothing and will be leaving knowing how to really use my camera. It was so worth it!

Iceland Advanced Photography

Ellie G. from Glencoe, IL
I think what impacted me most was being pushed out of my typical comfort zone and doing things that I wouldn't normally be doing. I hiked more than I ever had, I climbed a glacier, I went into a dark cave, and I took some pretty amazing pictures of Iceland!
Ashley Bennet
This trip was a chance of a lifetime. I learned new camera and software skills that have made me a better photographer. I loved the overall atmosphere I experienced on the trip with my group and instructors. I enjoyed snorkeling, kayaking, horse back riding and so much more. This trip really opened by eyes to the world and I loved every minute of it!
Kelsey P. from Meriden, NH
Before I came on this trip I had never been out of the country. I was also very quiet. After this experience I realized that I love to explore and try new things. I feel more comfortable with working in groups and found a leader inside of me!
Charles H. from Concord, NC
These trips are amazing. They allow you to travel and experience a world beyond your own. Adventuring around the whole of Iceland was such an amazing experience. From glacier trekking to dry suit snorkeling, it's never a dull moment. Even the car rides are full of good times and allow for reflection on your own life.
Chloe Barshay from Armonk, NY
I loved this trip. I learned more about photography than I ever thought possible. Iceland was breathtaking and I saw the most beautiful glaciers and geysers. I made friendships that will last a lifetime. Thank you Broadreach, this was the greatest 3 weeks of my life.

Iceland was absolutely beautiful, and I can't say that I had one particular favorite place because I loved every moment of this trip! This group of phenomenal people, mixed with the unpredictable Iceland has really become my second home.
Trinity R. from Morgan Hill, CA

Iceland Photography & Portfolio Design

Catherine Chang
Iceland is any photographer's dream - it's simply too pretty to not be captured. My favorite things are the endless sunsets, the beautiful color. Everyone photographs differently - but Iceland offers something different to everyone. Safe travel environment when travelling with the group!
Gabi G. from Arlington, MA
It was so amazing to feel such positive and supportive energy in the room as we emerged from our comfort zones in a new way to share personal narratives and previous works of art. Even though we have been together for just three weeks, we have developed such a close knit and safe community here that allows creativity to flourish.
Emily C. from Essex Falls, NJ
I loved being able to see the work that was once a small seed of an idea form into ten incredible photos that represent the individual journeys we went on. We were no longer these lost kids randomly placed together in a foreign country, but friends who have chosen to support and inspire one another both artistically and personally. Seeing these portfolios has reminded me of how far we've come to get to this place of success and how glad I am to have witnessed my own revelations along with seven other incredible people.
Casey C. from Hillsborough, CA
This trip allowed me to see some of the most beautiful unique places and landscapes in the world. Iceland is a magical place and that essence was only enhanced by some of the most amazing and inspirational people I've ever met in my life.
Emily Bohrer
Traveling to Iceland with Broadreach has been one of the most amazing experiences of my life! I learned so much about photography from my two fantastic instructors, and got to experience truly incredible places and opportunities. My fellow students made the trip so much fun, and I know that our friendships will last a lifetime.
Testimonial - Sam H. from Hartford, CT
There are few places in the world that can capture the serene, enigmatic atmosphere that Iceland radiates. The magical land vibrates with breathtaking sights and mysterious discoveries. My goal as a photographer was to immerse myself in this place and give it life in pictures.
Ezekiel Elin from Hanover, NH
This was a great way to experience Iceland in a way that was relaxed and engaging and which did not require pre-existing skill sets. Being able to learn photography in an environment like Iceland allowed myself to perfect the new skills I was learning in a hands on environment.

Sailing

Thank you.
Testimonial - Amanda Revard

Caribbean Arc Sailing Voyage

Callie Calhoun from Cove, OR
Our daughter was nervous at first to go to another country without an adult by her side. She came home a different person with advanced emotional skills seldom developed without being exposed to diversity, responsibility, and international experience to people, sights, smells and education that cannot be obtained locally or through the guidance of a counselor or parent. The worries have disappeared and left us a confident, focused young daughter not afraid to commit to her next adventure knowing that through time and the proper guidance she can do anything she believes in. I am so grateful to Broadreach for making this opportunity possible.
Alex Schrader from Wichita, KS
My son absolutely enjoyed this experience and it will be one that will stay with him for a long time. My son established new friends and tested his character in many instances, but all worthwhile. He was able to put the skills he has already learned into real life, and it gave him a better understanding what is necessary to make a ship run (and can be equated to most aspects of life). He came back with a greater appreciation of the life he has, and he is more confident on what he can offer to others. The initial obsevation of my son upon his return is awesome to say the least, and I can only hope this experience is another stepping stone in life for greater opportunities to come.
Testimonial - Sarah Cottet from Jamesville, NY
My participation in the Arc of the Caribbean program was truly the most enriching experience thus far in my life. The Broadreach philosophy is nothing short of prophecy: I experienced, I achieved, I learned and I formed friendships that will stand up to the test of time.
Edye and Rand Rosenbaum from Jericho, NY
We were thrilled as a family to have Sam embark on his "first real adventure." We give you guys a lot of credit. It is not an easy task to take 11 previously unacquainted teenagers from all different backgrounds for a voyage on a boat the size of a large room. These kids worked hard... cooking, cleaning, learning to sail, helping other communities. They also played hard...snorkeling, swimming, hiking, sailing. This trip had so many once in a lifetime experiences, from hiking a volcano to jumping off of waterfalls and spotting large whales alongside the boat. We loved the entertaining daily logs written by the students, which helped us feel as if we were experiencing the trip with them. The final photo of my son sailing at the helm as the boat arrived is priceless. Thank you so much for this wonderful experience.
Blaine Dubose
Carson loved the trip - her exact words were "If you want to learn to sail do Broadreach". She learned a great deal and felt extremely safe ever minute of the way - she knows she made lifelong friends. Carson said the locations were phenomenal - especially Conego Bay.

This trip gave me the security and life lessons I needed to become the person I want to be in life... while it may not seem like a simple trip can change you, it shaped me in ways I couldn't have imagined nor expected and I will forever be greatful to Broadreach for it. I made a family and had an experience that has changed my life for the best. I love every place we visited, and the time with my crew was the best of my life. Broadreach is amazing.

My son had a great experience and came back energized and more confident. Unexpectedly, he gained cooking ability and willingness. He felt that the necessary safety procedures were observed. He did enjoy the interaction with new friends and the food shopping in the market as well as the service projects.

The trip was a wonderful experience for our daughter. She learned new skills and became aware of her new capabilities. She gained confidence in her new abilities but also in her ability to travel on her own and get along with peers very different from herself.

I want to thank you for letting me experience and learn more in three weeks about myself, others, different culture, the ocean and life than I ever dreamed of. When I signed up for Broadreach I admit I was more than a little nervous. But as soon as I stepped foot on our boat I felt like I was at home.
Peg Sackler
Olivia had a fantastic time. There were up and downs, beautiful experiences and some tougher times. All and all, though, she came away from the experience a little wiser and a little bit more mature. She saw things that people don't see in a lifetime.... She was safe and healthy. The communication and updates were great.

This camp experience was different than any other in so many ways. All the trips that Broadreach offers are super cool in their own way, and they give you an experience you can’t have in many other places. To start off, the staff at Broadreach are very qualified, inspiring people who love to do what they do. The kids I met on my trip came from all over the US, and all contributed to the interesting and versatile crew onboard our ship. There were a few people on my trip that I really was able to connect with, and we became really good friends who still talk now. The actual program itself is also really fun. Everyday we learned something new and had a ton of fun with each other, whether it was cliff diving into the ocean, or learning how to drive a dingy. Overall Broadreach was super fun for me and I am definitely coming back next summer.
Will M. from Durham, NC
This trip was great. I loved traveling to all the different isands. Each island was unique and amazing. Each culture was different and it really fascinated me.
Testimonial - Beatrice Mordecai from Edenton, NC
My instructors were amazing. They were both very helpful and taught us all about sailing, living on a boat, and many other things. They were also kind and easy to talk to, making us all comfortable in an environment we weren't used to. I made life-long friendships with my fellow crew, even though we only spent twelve days together. I would do this trip all over again in a heartbeat. There were so many things to see and learn about in the Caribbean, and I especially loved the culture and way of life there. I hope that I can do another Broadreach trip in the future!!
Testimonial - Tobias W. from New York, NY
The places we went, such as St. Barts, were very fun. We learned to fish, hiked and explored new places.

I liked the sailing trip because we got to visit more islands than on dive trips.

Beth Chambers from Honolulu, HI

This is my second year doing Broadreach and I loved it even more than my first trip. Broadreach has changed my life and made me into a better person. The people around me have changed me and the experience in general. I never thought I would scuba dive because I thought it was scary but now its one of my favorite things to do.
Jwalin Patel from Vadodara, India
This trip is probably the best trip for students who wish to experience the most rare and spectacular moments! The itinerary was well-designed and flexilbe- and even through the trip was so fast-paced, there was ample time to relax in many ways-- beach, activity, car rides, ie. not just sitting idle. There are some moments in my life that have taken my breath away and they have all been on this trip, with all the new friends I have made in such an exciting location of Mexico. This trip contains a good amount of diving- 23 dives accomplished in 17 days, which is impressive. But though focused on diving, it was amazingly well diversified with the addition of whale shark watching, Chichen Itza, Mayan ruins at Tulum and a few beach retreats which amplified all the fun we had!
Emily Luber from Longmeadow, MA
This was my fourth Broadreach trip. Over the years, I have traveled to the Caribbean, the Grenadines, Fiji, and now Mexico with fellow Broadreachers to dive. This trip takes the cake. The diving was incredible. The people were always welcoming and willing to teach us about their culture. It was truly amazing.

Broadreach is a program made for any type of person. After every trip I leave feeling like I have a new perspective on the world. Broadreach allows you to try new things you might never do on a regular basis. I think Broadreach leaves a positive impact on everyone no matter who you are.
Ben Fishman from Larchmont, NY
Holbox was the best experience of my life. Swimming with whale sharks and manta rays is something I'll never forget. Through it all, our group bonded and grew closer than I ever expected it to. I have never wanted to go back to a place so badly.
Alex Hite from Saratoga Springs, NY
The places we went were enough to make the trip an everlasting memory, the amazing people, food, and relationships were just an added bonus.
Hunter Lange (age 14) from Yucatan Advanced Scuba
This is my second year with Broadreach and it definitely won’t be the last. I’ve made life long friends and stay in contact with most of the friends I’ve made. The instructors are so kind and made an effort to make sure I was having a good time while I had an ear infection. They’re so kind and always make you feel at home. The views underwater and above the water are breathtaking. The beautiful reefs are full of many fish and other sea creatures. When arriving in Holbox, the beaches are beautiful, but make sure to bring some bug repellent!! There’s so many bugs there. Seeing the whale sharks off the coast of Holbox was the most amazing experience of my life!! Such elegant creatures!! I recommend you go on this trip if you have the chance. You won’t regret it.

Alexandra B. from Farmington, CT
We learned so much on every dive and even not in the water-it taught me how to properly experience another culture and skills that I can use later in life. What I learned about life, culture and scuba skills exceeded all my expectations. This has been the best trip I have been on, mostly because of the instructors and other students!
Isabel Levin from Shaker Heights, OH
My Broadreach trip to Bali was one of the best experiences of my life! Definitely go on this trip! Diving in Bali is so different from the Caribbean. The new fish species and bright coral are awe inspiring. The food is delicious and the group is like a family. Free diving is also a very cool experience. I learned so much about diving, the environment, and new cultures. Seeing manta rays, turtles and even a shark was spectacular. I can't imagine a better place, or way, to spend 3 weeks.
Ann C. from Charlottesville, VA
This is my third Broadreach trip and I can honestly say that they have gotten better each time. Truly the best three weeks of my life. This was my first time traveling outside of the western hemisphere and it really changed my understanding of the world.
William Rosenau
This trip not only gave me great insight into the rarely seen Balinese culture but also had the best diving that I have ever done in my life. It was truly a trip to remember!
Owen C. from Spring Lake, NJ
Through meeting people from all walks of life and different parts of the world, we as a group now all look at the world from a different prospective. It's safe to say that this was the best experience of my life.
William M. from Wayne, PA
It was an awesome experience in an amazing place- I enjoyed how unique everything was to Bali itself. It would be hard to have these experiences anywhere else.

Eloise Stanton
This was an absolutely AMAZING trip. All the way around I had a great time and experienced some of the best and happiest memories of my life on this trip. The people and the activities created a perfect combination that made the trip an unforgettable and unbelievable one. The trip had no flaws and had a great mix of fun, learning, discovery, and excitement.
Jack Carrigan
This trip has been one of the greatest experiences in my life. To go to what is considered diving paradise and learn skills that we will have for the rest of our life is amazing. What I realized most about this trip is the amount of responsibility you gain knowing that one day you could save a life. The staff and other kids were so fun to hang out with too.
Gabriel Jacobs
This trip was the best Broadreach trip I've ever done. The group was small so we became closer and more integrated, and Robbie and Sally guided us along the way to help us achieve our goals. The diving was incredible and the island was beautiful. Windsurfing was among one of my favorite activities and the vibe of the trip was very special. It made me realize the path I want to pursue and the people I want to surround myself with.
Zoe Aarons
This trip was such an amazing experience. I made so many great friends and the entire group got so close in just 12 days. My diving improved so much and becoming and emergency first responder and rescue diver was extremely rewarding. The activities, such as visiting the donkey sanctuary and windsurfing, we amazing. I loved my time in Bonaire and will take away new friends and a greater confidence in my diving skills. I created so many amazing memories on this trip and will always remember the experience.
Elender Pittman from Rocky Mount, NC

Sean Klein
Every single place, activity, event and experience cannot be described using words. Not only were these 12 days some of the most fun of my life, I learned about responsibility from the trip leaders and my fellow leaders. Everybody on this trip I will now have a lifelong bond with. I will never forget this trip.
Maris Hughes

Caribbean PADI Divemaster Internship

Jennifer and Jeff Croy from Santa Fe, NM
The trip opened up a whole new world for Max. He came back self-confident that he can do whatever he sets his mind to. He has a new appreciation for the underwater world and was excited that his hobby (scuba diving) could be used for constructive things. He came back more mature and ready for new responsibilities.
Testimonial - Nancy Pasternak from McLean, VA
Broadreach's approach combines learning and fun with a strong culture of safety and organization. Communication was consistent and helpful during the application process and throughout the trip easing any worries I had. Jordan had a terrific time on trips 2 years in a row! I am 100% confident in recommending Broadreach to other parents who inquire about the trips.
Cheryl Van Tilburg from Knoxville, TN
Broadreach programs are life-changing opportunities. When you send your child on one, you are giving them the gift of confidence, friendship, perseverance, and technical skills that will last a lifetime. Our family's two kids have been on a total of seven Broadreach trips -- and it was the best investment we've ever made.
Patrick Lamontagne from South Africa
Diving has been a passion of mine ever since I first took a giant step off the edge of the boat and into the crystal clear water of the Mauritius islands of the coast of Africa. Since then I have been to Broadreach twice, first to complete my advanced and just recently to get my Divemaster. This trip showed me a bran new side to diving, which I never imagined. Arriving before the first boat load of kids ever left, the other Divemaster candidates and myself were excited to start our new certification. Our home for the next two weeks would be Vicky the support boat, and what a home she was. Being only 6 people on the boat meant that we each had more then enough room to make ourselves comfortable. To my surprise we completed most of our training and written work in the first week. After that our hands on experience began as we would help a different instructor everyday to teach their eager group of new divers. As a DM you focus on overseeing and help in individual cases when a student is having trouble with a skill. The first time I was called to help to a student practice a skill I was nervous and very excited, however my anxiety was quickly replace by pride as my student succeed the skill like he had never had a problem. This excitement at teaching other one of my favorite activities only grew as I assigned to a boat. I like to think I had the best boat of kids on the water. Between helping in the water and on board I began to see the other side of Broadreach, which I was not shown on my previous trip as a student. This experience lead me to continue my certifications in diving to the point where by the end of the summer I had become an instructor. Although challenging at times, I could not Imagine a better way to spend a summer.

We are amazed at the growth in our daughter since her Broadreach trip. We wish we had heard about Broadreach earlier in her high school career.
Testimonial - Rebecca Swift from Santa Barbara, CA
Dallas had a very positive experience... He was extremely impressed with the instructors, the overall course presentations, and of course the challenge of diving. He thoroughly enjoyed the friends he met and is keeping in touch. He felt that the program was very professionally run.
Susan Stevens from Louisville, KY
Best idea we ever had to give our son this opportunity to explore the ocean and himself. He "got it" the big picture I mean. They can so quickly see tunnel vision unless put in a situation that's bigger than themselves. He's ready to go back.

Caribbean PADI Divemaster & Instructor

Katherine Horine
Broadreach has been full of life changing experiences and friendships over the years, and has truly been an inspiration for me. I began as a 14 year old high school student on an Underwater Discoveries trip and wrapped up my time as a student back in the Caribbean with the DM and IDC courses. I could not have asked for a better experience; this course in particular taught me responsibility, trust and confidence. It gave me an entirely new perspective on life, one that I brought back to college and applied to both my studies and my friendships. I have always had a love for water, but this course solidified my passion for the underwater world. It inspired me to become a Broadreach staff member and pursue my dreams no matter what they may be. At a young age, Broadreach ignited a passion for adventure within me and it has yet to dissipate. I cannot speak more highly of the professional level courses offered through Broadreach and I certainly have not forgotten the experiences and opportunities they provided for me.
Grace O'Connor from Westport, CT
This trip, along with every other Broadreach trip I have been on was truly fantastic. The staff are great- a good mix of professional and fun. I really enjoyed the freedom of the trip and the level of responsibility that was expected along with it. I thought that the Divemaster portion of the course was really good and enjoyed the fact that we were sailing along a couple of program boats that we were able to help out with. I think the opportunity to have experience with real divers was very valuable. The two weeks (maybe slightly less) of the Divemaster course were very intense and very busy, but I feel like we were able to get in a lot of diving and cover a lot of necessary skills that were important for the instructor course. I really liked how we had many opportunities to practice skills so that by the time we had to demonstrate them they were almost second nature- this made the skills in the instructor course much easier also. The instructor course was great also. Our course director, Assar, was really great and it was very evident that he had a lot of experience teaching the IDC. It was extremely helpful that he made up practice tests for us to do and I felt like because of this I was very well prepared for the written tests and end ended up doing even better than I had anticipated. Also I felt like we did a lot of skill demonstrations and lesson plans which was good because, once again, it made me feel really well prepared for the IE. We went through almost every skill that we might encounter on the IDC, which was really useful and made it much less stressful. Despite the mosquitoes, I also enjoyed living at the pad. It was really nice to have an area that we could come back to to hang out and study and it was really fun being able to help and talk to a lot of the students passing through the pad. The IDC was definitely a lot of work and I was exhausted by the end of it, but it all paid off when I passed the IE and became and instructor. I would highly recommend this trip to any one who is considering it and would be more than willing to answer any questions about my experience.

You and your staff provide opportunities for personal growth, maturation, and developing inner strength and self-esteem that extend far beyond the obvious 'good times'. Grayson Kirk once wrote that: "The most important function of education at any level is to develop the personality of the individual and the significance of his life to himself and others." Broadreach has had this invaluable impact on Jordan and he sees it directly in this way. Thank you!

Caribbean PADI Scuba Instructor

Victoria Gomez from University of Rhode Island
Extraordinary - Honestly this trip has been the most life altering experience I have had to date. Not only did I become a PADI Dive Instructor but it opened my eyes to the endless possibilities open to me. I went on to work as a Marine Biologist and Scuba Instructor on the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, met life long friends, experience countless cultures and get to travel the world. The doors that become open as a PADI Dive Instructor are ENDLESS! The skill and enthusiasm the staff had truly made this experience unforgettable. They were very knowledgeably and helpful. The extra time and dedication they put into our training made all the difference. Wouldn't have done it anywhere else, and wouldn't have been the instructor I am today if it wasn't for them.
