“Diving in Saba, community service and boat living all exceeded my highest expectations. I learned to dive and sail but, more importantly, I learned about new places, people and cultures. I would hands-down do it all over again and I will carry the memories with me forever.” Hannah, middle school alumna

Itinerary

Day 1-3

Ready for adventure

There’s a lot to learn in the next few days, but you’ll soon be an expert! Get fitted for dive gear, meet your crew and board your new floating home for the adventure of a lifetime. We start training right away with a short sail that will help you learn the ropes of life on a 45-foot catamaran. We also jump right into dive training: whether you are just starting out or already certified, you’ll be in the water and swimming like a fish in no time. After class, try out some water sports and paddleboarding in the calm waters of Grand Case.

Day 4-6

St. Barts – tres chic

Settling into life on a boat is easy: sleeping under the stars, waking up to the cool ocean breeze and jumping in the water whenever the mood takes you. You’ll work as a team as you take on the responsibilities of caring for the boat and fellow crewmates. Dive training is in full swing, and you’ll discover the critters of St Barts – lobsters, barracuda, turtles and more as they swim right under your home. On land, you’ll hike to the wonderful beach of Anse des Flamands for some beach games and visit the historic city of Gustavia. It’s uniquely French Caribbean, and the crepes and ice cream are not to be missed!

Day 7-9

Saba is calling

Your sail training continues as we head to our next location– Saba! On your journey, you’ll learn tacking, points of sail and navigation techniques. It’s time for some more challenging diving, and the island of Saba does not disappoint. Its unique landscape provides fascinating diving and intriguing hikes, and the nurse sharks and stingrays of Torrens Point and Tent Reef are just waiting to say hello! You’ll take time to help the local marine park with some volunteer work, later exploring the cute villages of the island.

Day 10-12

Last call for fun

Our last days are spent at Tintamarre, a white sand island just off the coast of St. Martin. The wreck of a small tugboat welcomes us for one last dive, later spending time snorkeling with the turtles and taking final photos with your new friends. As you reflect on all you have learned, take away your new found confidence and skills as you head home.
