“Spending three weeks in the Caribbean on a sailboat with 14 other people I had never met before was one of the best experiences of my life. Every location we stayed at and every island was extremely beautiful. We got to dive every single day, so I learned tons of new things about diving and now I feel a hundred times more confident than I did at the beginning of the trip.” Isabella, high school alumna

Itinerary

Day 1-4

Welcome aboard

Arrive in St. Lucia and prepare for the adventure of a lifetime! Following a short taxi ride along the winding coastal roads, arrive in picturesque Marigot Bay and settle into life aboard. Over the next three weeks you’ll get a chance to be the first mate, chef, skipper and dive safety officer. After a quick briefing, raise the mainsail and begin exploring St. Lucia’s pristine coral reefs. Moor the boat between the sheer cliffs of the Pitons, two jungle covered behemoths rising two thousand feet above the sea.

Day 5-8

Your scuba adventure begins

Now that you’re acquainted with life aboard, it’s time to sail south towards historic St. Vincent. Cinephiles may recognize several locations from the iconic ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ franchise. In fact, several hundred locals served as cast members in the films! Hike to towering waterfalls in Wallilabou and explore a hidden bat cave, accessible only with scuba gear, in Smugglers’ Cove. Continue working towards your Advanced Open Water certification on some of the most pristine reefs in the Caribbean.

Day 9-12

Advance your skills and be charmed by Bequia

Visit Bequia, a beautiful island of quaint houses, rolling hills, wild flowers and golden sand beaches. Explore the island’s rich history of fishing, whaling and boat building. Although you’re only a few miles from St. Vincent, the diving here is unlike anything you’ve seen thus far. Tour sloping reefs as you begin your Rescue Diver course.

Day 13-17

You did it, rescue diver!

With crystal clear water, white sand beaches and hidden coves accessible only by boat, The Tobago Cays provide the ideal setting to complete your Rescue Diver course. The astounding beauty of these tiny islands makes you feel like you’re inside a postcard. Explore and play games on Rum Island, better known as the island where Jack Sparrow was marooned in Pirates of the Caribbean. Wrap up your day on the island by snorkeling with sea turtles and enjoying a beach barbecue with your new friends.

Day 18-21

As the program winds down, the diving ramps up

The diving only gets better in the final days of our adventure… Ile de Ronde, The Sisters, Big Blue, and Kick ‘Em Jenny offer fantastic opportunities to see pelagics, as the sheer walls drop off into the abyss. Swim past hundreds of statues as you investigate the world’s largest underwater sculpture garden. Head ashore on Grenada and see why people call it the Isle of Spice. The fragrance of nutmeg, cloves, ginger, cinnamon and tropical flowers permeates the breeze. The quaint towns have a colonial feel and the scenery is captivating. Spend your last evening enjoying a farewell dinner and reflecting with your new close friends on all the amazing diving and sailing adventures you experienced in just 21 days!
