Requirements:
Hop aboard, settle into the yacht and meet your fellow crewmates and trip leaders. Our catamaran is specially equipped and provides an ideal platform for diving and adventure. Our maiden voyage to Grand Case gives us the chance to learn about sailing and the language of the sea…sheet in, head up, ready about, lee ho. Let’s go diving! Our first check-out dive allows us to get back into the swing of diving.
Adapting quickly to life aboard, your crew shares all of the responsibilities from scouting dive conditions to keeping the yacht “ship shape.” Start out with a dive skills workshop in confined water, fine-tuning your skills with some exercises and learning demonstration techniques. Complete an Emergency First Responder refresher.
Depart with newly acquired skills as we set sail for Ile Fourche, Colombier and St. Barts – all a diver’s dream and the perfect location to begin our search + recovery specialty. Learn new knots and how to handle a lift bag underwater. Head ashore to find fantastic beaches and the town of Gustavia, just as imagined…cool shops, a scenic harbor, mopeds racing about and classic French bakeries. Don’t miss the ice cream shop and its delicious homemade sorbet.
Experience all the wonders of Statia. Hike up the steep trail of The Quill, Statia’s towering volcano. At the rim of the crater, you’re rewarded with a vast expanse of lush rainforest to explore. We’ll complete the Nitrox specialty by exploring some of the finest wrecks in the Caribbean. Assist the marine park and other local organizations by spending an afternoon working on a community service project, after which we’re ready for a sunset meal at a favorite local dinner spot.
The culturally rich and stunningly beautiful islands of Nevis & St. Kitts are the next stop on our tour de force. Dive deeper into your skill development, including navigation practice, underwater mapping, diver safety, basic compressor training and risk management. It’s not all work though! Impressive wrecks and reefs supplement our learning. When not diving, the flat glassy water of Ballast Bay is perfect for honing your watersports and Pico sailing skills!
Saba awaits! A picture-perfect sail brings us to an island that literally towers out of the sea. Sheer cliffs and a striking peak hint at her volcanic past, now home to dense tropical jungles and possibly the best diving in the Caribbean. Sites like Outer Limits, Tent Reef Wall, Twilight Zone and Man-O-War Shoals are even cooler than their names make them sound. Discover extraordinary pinnacles, mounts and volcanic formations. Exploring inland, we take the ‘Road that Couldn’t Be Built’ up to the Windwardside, a quaint village of tiny Dutch cottages, seemingly forgotten by time.
Our final destination brings us full circle back to the island where our adventure began, St. Martin. Making our last couple of days ones to remember, we stop off at Tintamarre, an uninhabited natural reserve with one of the most beautiful beaches you’ve ever seen. We’ll have some fun wakeboarding and skiing before we prepare to say goodbye. As we enjoy one final sunset, we’ll reflect on the fun we’ve had and all the skills we’ve learned in such a short amount of time.
