Skipper & Sailing Instructor

Sailing Instructors/Skippers lead summer live-aboard diving, sailing and marine science programs in the Caribbean aboard 40-55 ft. catamarans and monohulls. Programs range from 12 to 37 days and can be mentally and physically challenging for students and instructors which makes maintaining a positive attitude essential. Programs are limited to 12 students and led by a team of two to three instructors. Skippers work with a dive instructor, marine biologist, or a first mate to manage everything from delivering course content to leading onshore activities and more. In addition to sailing instruction and sailing the yacht, skippers work with their co-leader to supervise students 24/7, facilitate group dynamics, assist students with cooking and cleaning duties, support scuba training and other program activities. Flexibility, teamwork, the ability to multi-task, and provide a fun, positive and cohesive community are all important requirements. Contract length varies from two to three months starting in late May through early or late August.

PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor

We are looking for PADI Open Water Scuba Instructors to lead teen diving programs in the Bahamas, Bali, the Caribbean, Fiji, Mexico and more. Programs range from 12 to 24 days and can be mentally and physically taxing for students and instructors which makes maintaining a positive attitude key. Programs are limited to 12 students led by a team of two to three instructors. Dive instructors work alongside a marine biologist, skipper, or another dive instructor to successfully lead a program from academics to leading onshore activities and more. In addition to teaching diving, instructors work with their co-leader to supervise students 24/7, facilitate group dynamics, assist students with cooking and cleaning duties, lead games, support academics and other program activities. Flexibility, teamwork, the ability to multi-task, and provide a fun, positive and cohesive community are all important requirements. Contracts vary from one to three months starting in late May through early to late August.

Veterinary Medicine Instructor + Program Leader

Veterinary Medicine Instructor + Program Leader

Broadreach veterinary medicine courses combine a college curriculum with adventure to create dynamic learning experiences. High school and college students can earn college credit while traveling with a small group of peers to Costa Rica or Indonesia. Students participate in lectures, discussions, field work and lab training, as well as activities that build leadership and teamwork. Our goal is that students gain new skills, new friends and have more fun learning than they ever thought possible. Broadreach Instructors are expected to educate, mentor and inspire students everyday. This is a 24/7 position with limited free-time or personal space. Broadreach Instructors also need to be energetic and empathetic role models who excel in building meaningful relationships with young adults. Managing health and safety, maintaining a positive attitude through challenging circumstances, leading games, participating in service learning activities, teaching, developing students’ personal growth, facilitating inclusive group dynamics and demonstrating respectful travel are just a few of the many responsibilities of a Broadreach Instructor.

International Program Coordinator

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Program planning and logistics for international courses for middle school, high school and college students, including but not limited to communicating with outfitters, making reservations, updating student packets, creating program specific operations manuals, creating emergency action plans and completing detailed budgets.
  • Assisting the Caribbean director with Caribbean operations.
  • Sales calls, emails and other tasks to get enrollments in programs.
  • Answering parent and student questions via phone and email. This position involves a significant amount of time speaking with both prospective and enrolled families to help them choose and/or prepare for the program.
  • Assisting with managing programs in the field and coordinating communication and logistics.
  • Assisting with the hiring process, completing secondary interviews with prospective field staff.
  • Assisting with facilitating field staff training.
  • Debriefing programs and field instructors
  • Assisting with developing proposals and possibly coordinating 2-4 custom programs per year in addition to coordinating open enrollment courses.
