“As a divemaster, you focus on overseeing and helping in individual cases when a student is having trouble with a skill. The first time I was called to help a student practice a skill I was nervous and very excited, however my anxiety was quickly replaced by pride as my student succeeded in the skill like he had never had a problem. This excitement at teaching one of my favorite activities only grew as I was assigned to a Broadreach boat. I like to think I had the best boat of kids on the water. Between helping in the water and onboard I began to see the other side of Broadreach, which I was not shown on my previous trip as a student.” Patrick, college alumnus

Welcome to the start of your professional dive journey! Touch down in St. Martin and step onto the Broadreach fleet support boat for a behind-the-scenes experience of dive training in action. Living on board, you’ll assist staff supporting nearby program boats while diving straight into your Divemaster course. From confined water skill circuits to knowledge development and early leadership training, you’ll be strapping on your fins, sharpening your skills, and setting the foundation for the adventure ahead.
No matter how many dives you’ve logged, you’ll never forget your first. Now, you’ll help create that same experience for new divers. Team up with Broadreach instructors on open water training dives, supporting group management, skill demonstrations, and student practice sessions. As your leadership confidence grows, you’ll also complete your final Divemaster skill assessments. Celebrate the milestone with a well-earned adventure—town time in stunning St. Barts and some epic waves at body surfing beach.
Next stop: St. Kitts. Here, you’ll put your growing expertise to work by joining a Broadreach program boat to lead, mentor, and teach. Assist instructors both above and below the surface while role modeling strong dive practices. You’ll guide Advanced Open Water students, support beginners who need extra encouragement, and even lead dives yourself. It’s hands-on leadership training that transforms theory into real-world experience, shaping you into a confident dive professional.
Finish your Divemaster journey with advanced training and leadership opportunities. Create underwater maps, assist with specialty dives, and take the lead on more adventures. With feedback and mentorship from Broadreach instructors, you’ll polish your skills and grow into your new role as a dive leader. Round out the program with meaningful community service projects in Saba, time to explore, and one final celebration. You’ll return home not only as a certified professional but with the confidence, purpose, and leadership to take your diving anywhere.
