“This trip, along with every other Broadreach trip I have been on, was truly fantastic. The staff are great – a good mix of professional and fun. I really enjoyed the freedom of the trip and the level of responsibility that was expected along with it. I think the opportunity to have experience with real divers was very valuable. I really liked how we had many opportunities to practice skills so that by the time we had to demonstrate them they were almost second nature – this made the skills in the instructor course much easier.” Grace, college alumna

Itinerary

Day 1-4

Prep for your future

Your professional dive journey begins now! Step aboard your catamaran in Anse Marcel and settle into your new floating home as you get to know your fellow adventurers. Start laying the foundation for your Divemaster training with confined water skill circuits, dive theory, and the basics of leadership. Through knowledge development and practice, you’ll begin to see what it takes to become a PADI professional and start shaping your future in the world of scuba.

Day 5-8

Skill development

Next stop: the chic island of St. Barts. Here, you’ll dive deeper into the technical side of being a Divemaster—navigation, underwater mapping, compressor basics, diver safety, and risk management. Balance the hard work with some well-earned downtime exploring town, grabbing a crepe in paradise, and hiking up to breathtaking cliffside views.

Day 9-12

Take charge

The dramatic landscapes of Saba set the stage for the next level of your training. This is where you’ll practice leading dives, delivering briefings, setting up and managing dive sites, and running search and recovery operations. With plenty of dives to explore Saba’s rich marine life, you’ll gain the confidence and skills needed to lead successful dives of your own.

Day 13-14

Do what you love

As you sail back toward St. Martin, it’s time for your final assessments. Thanks to all your practice and preparation, you’re more than ready. Celebrate your progress with some well-deserved downtime—relax on the beach, reflect on your journey, and look ahead to the exciting next phase of your professional path.

Day 15-16

Onto the next phase

Now it’s time to begin your Instructor Development Course. Dive into the PADI system of teaching, expand your knowledge beyond the Divemaster level, and prepare for the responsibilities of becoming an instructor. Even with a full day of learning, you’ll still find time to soak up island life—whether that’s a walk along the beach or a swim in the surf.

Day 17-21

Practice makes perfect

Learn how to share your passion for diving with others by practicing different teaching techniques, both in the classroom and underwater. With continuous feedback from your Course Director, you’ll refine your style and build confidence. By the end of this stage, you’ll earn your first significant milestone—Assistant Instructor certification—before heading into more advanced open water teaching practice.

Day 21-22

Emergency responders

Next up: become an Emergency First Response Instructor. Refresh your knowledge of primary and secondary care, practice real-world scenarios, and learn how to teach CPR and first aid to others. With classroom and confined water presentations, you’ll sharpen your teaching skills even further. It’s fast-paced and rewarding, and you’ll feel how close you are to achieving your goal.

Day 23-26

That’s it!

This is the moment you’ve been working toward: your Instructor Exam. After some final review sessions with your teammates, it’s time to show everything you’ve learned. The nerves will quickly give way to confidence as you pass your assessments and officially become a PADI Instructor. Celebrate in true Caribbean style with your new dive pro family, then head home ready to inspire the next generation of divers—confident, accomplished, and prepared to lead.
