Gallery-worthy days exploring Iceland’s powerful landscapes

  • Create a portfolio of new images alongside a small group of motivated students, and receive skilled and constructive critiques in the process.
  • Hike into the breathtaking mountains of Iceland to discover new vantage points for unique compositions. Create images of gushing geysers, frozen cliffs and volcanic craters as you propel your photography skills to the next level.
  • Experiment with new photography skills at destinations including the iconic Seljalandsfoss waterfall, and learn how to adjust images in Lightroom and Photoshop.
  • Build a personal connection to Iceland’s unique natural world through dry suit snorkeling, glacier hikes, puffin sightings and the search for hidden waterfalls.
  • Take control of the program itinerary and make stops at natural “hot pots,” a glacier lagoon, volcanic mountains and Reykjavík's cultural landmarks.

College Credits

Three fine arts credits available through Lesley University. 

Course description: In this course, students will advance photography skills through hands-on photography exercises, digital editing workshops and production efforts. Students will manipulate camera settings and composition techniques, later using Lightroom and Photoshop to finalize their collection.

Course objectives: 

  • Sharpen your use of exposure, f-stop, depth of field, shutter speed and white balance.
  • Evaluate and critique photographs based on professional standards.
  • Gain high-quality production skills using digital imaging software.
  • Become proficient in Photoshop and digital manipulation.
  • Discuss ethics of digital editing and creative techniques.


  • Must be at least 18 years old and a high school graduate.
  • Must be one year out of high school or have completed one semester of college.
  • Intro to Photography or equivalent experience.
