PADI Certifications

PADI Advanced Open Water

What You’ll Learn:

While this program is primarily focused on exploration, students will:

Build experience with deep dives, strong currents, and advanced dive planning
Engage in Mayan history and Belizean culture and traditions
Learn about Belize’s diverse ecosystems through guided nature hikes, cultural experiences, and hands-on activities
Reflect on their growth as divers and travelers during group-led debriefs

Program Prerequisites:

Open to Broadreach alumni students completing 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grades only.
Participants must be PADI Open Water certified (or equivalent)

Itinerary

Day 1

Welcome Back to Broadreach

Reconnect with the Broadreach community as you arrive in Belize City and meet fellow alumni and instructors. After transferring to your accommodation, settle in and prepare for the expedition ahead. The evening focuses on orientation, reconnecting with your crew, and building excitement for the journey to come.

Days 2 – 4

Rainforest Adventures

Zip through the jungle canopy, explore the ancient Maya city of Xunantunich, and float through Belize’s spectacular cave systems on a cave tubing adventure. Stay in accommodation surrounded by Belize’s lush rainforest.

Day 5

Belize Zoo + Liveaboard Boarding

Visit Belize Zoo to see native wildlife before transferring to Belize City to board your liveaboard yacht and begin your Caribbean diving expedition.

Days 6 – 11

Belize Barrier Reef Liveaboard

Let your ultimate diving expedition begin: six days exploring one of the world’s most spectacular reef systems. Dive multiple times a day, visiting vibrant coral reefs, dramatic walls, and remote atolls. Watch for sea turtles, reef sharks, rays, colorful reef fish, and more. You’ll explore world-class reef systems including Lighthouse Reef and Glover’s Reef, some of the most biodiverse waters in the Caribbean.

Life onboard follows the rhythm of expedition diving: eat, sleep, dive, repeat — with time to relax on deck and share the experience with your Broadreach crew.

Day 12

Farewell (For Now)

The expedition concludes with a return to Belize City and a celebration dinner ashore with your group.

After a final program reflection and goodbye to your group, transfer to the airport for your journey home.

You’ll leave Belize with advanced diving experience, unforgettable ocean and jungle adventures, and a lasting connection to the Broadreach alumni community.
