Thinking of becoming a vet one day? This is where you start. From the basics of animal behavior and handling, to shadowing veterinarians and observing surgeries, get a glimpse of what it takes to be a professional in the field.
Gain exposure to the many sides of animal medicine and the different opportunities available to pursue your passion for animals. Roll up your sleeves at the Zoo & Conservation Center and learn about animal care, nutrition, husbandry, wildlife conservation and collect data on their world-famous flamingo colony. Volunteer at a local non-profit animal clinic to learn about animal welfare initiatives and shadow veterinarians as they perform physical exams and spay & neuter surgeries. Outside of your animal studies, sea kayak the crystal clear Bahamian waters, snorkel through coral nurseries and take a cooking class in a wooden hut on the beach. After this 12–day adventure into the world of vet med, you’ll leave the Bahamas with so much more than just a fun adventure under your belt.
