| After meeting Brett in the ocean today, I’m reassured I won’t be the only one going on my trip! I spent the day waiting for my crew to arrive and when I finally met someone on my trip, I was so relieved. Brett and I hung out along with Jonathon, a guy from Charlotte on another boat. After dinner, I took my luggage out of the storage room and finally got to haul it on board. Our boat is so nice! Our cabins are a little cramped, but I doubt I’ll be spending much time in there anyway. People started arriving and Brett and I helped them carry their stuff to the boat. As our crew started growing, I knew this was going to be such an awesome trip. We played spoons and multiple other card games and in between switching partners or dealing cards we exchanged information about ourselves. That was probably the best way to get to know one another. It was really laid-back and “chill” and I really enjoyed getting to know the other guys and girls on my boat. Alec and I were the only girls until about 10:30. Then Allie showed up and Mariah popped in around midnight. We sat out on the boat for awhile and “bonded” but I was extremely tired and fell asleep almost as soon as I got in my sleeping bag. (I’m writing this the next morning because obviously, I couldn’t have written it last night.) But I was filled in this morning about all the deep bonding that went on; unfortunately I missed it, but I’m sure living with these kids for three weeks will be enough bonding!
