UWD31 Update - Sunday, August 05, 2012

A Ton Of Fun

UWD31 Day 6 Eyowyn August 5th
Today as leader of the day I can say we had a ton of fun. Such a great fay. We all slept in till 7:00 and had amazing eggs and potatoes waiting for us as we rubbed the sleep out of our eyes. After a quick clean of the boat, we got a lecture by our amazing skipper, Caroline. She taught us all the parts of the boat. We all walked around the boat together shouting out the names of parts as she pointed to them. We now know all the parts of a boat, just ask us! There were a lot of laughs involved, and we learned a lot. After our brief lecture we were fortunate enough to go diving!

After working efficiently together, we went for a dive off of a nearby beach on St. Barts. We did a 25ft dive at a reef just a short boats ride away from Eywoyn. We got to see so many amazing fish and even an octopus that was hiding in a sea sponge. All of the beautiful coral was filled by so many small and large colourful creatures of the sea it was almost overwhelming. Couldn't ask for better diving, felt like heaven.

Later we went on a beautiful short hike where we saw tortoises on the trail. At the end of our hike we got to go swimming at a body surfing beach and play fun games like soccer. After our day in the sun we head back to our boat, but on the way we got to see turtles! We hung out on the boat watching them for a bit while dinner was being made. Dinner was good like always and the brownies made it better!! The last event of the night was calling our parents before hitting the sack.
