An epic Adventure
Today was an epic adventure. We started off with an early wake up call at 5:30 am for the cooks and 6 for the rest of the crew. But we were welcomed into the day with the beautiful sound of Creed’s voice “With Arms Wide Open” blaring. I thought it would be a nice touch to the start of the day. We proceeded to have lecture which was a bit hot due to the fact that we were inside. We learned about currents, tides, winds, and other lovely ocean properties thanks to our lovely teacher Marina. It was epic start to what would be a very spontaneous day. Our original plans were to set sail for Ile Fourche at lunch but due to some slight delays in the scuba tanks we will wait until tomorrow.
Following our lecture we split up the groups between the certified divers and non certified divers. The certified divers were able to enjoy a trip to town to check out the local life. They walked through town and got some icy cold, refreshingly rich ice cream to enjoy as they sat upon the haven of sand, also known as the beach. Following the beach they continued their endeavors with some water sporting. They took to the wakeboards and showed off some excellent skills. Let’s just say that Rachael is the next professional wakeboarding prodigy as she was throwing some back flips and shredding out there, no big deal. I was thoroughly impressed. As for the uncertified guppies, we were working out our skills in the shallow waters. We practiced taking off our BCDs (Buoyancy Control Device) and weight belts under water and working on our neutral buoyancy. It was safe to say that Anna was a master. She was dominating the world of scuba thanks to our trustee dive instructor Amy.
Next we made way back to the ship to go on our first family dive. We buddied up and set out to Creole Rock. We saw all kinds of fish, lobsters, squid, puffers and everyone had a blast. Kiki and Nikki thought it would be fun to take the lazy route on the dive and had Cody, aka the Workhorse, pull them around by holding onto his fins. The dive was a success and we stayed under for 41 minutes. Had to say it was an awesome experience so parents be prepared to start getting into scuba diving if you haven’t already. I’m hooked on it. Mom and Dad note to self for my birthday two words, dive gear. I love you.
After the dive we headed back to the boat where are skipper Will.I.Am taught us how to tie knots. Nikki aka the “Knot Goddess” had to keep showing me how to do it. We followed the knot tying with a trip into town for dinner at Sky’s the Limit. We had chicken and ribs and had awesome conversation. We followed dinner with a little shopping and the Skipper and I bought ourselves sarongs. Sarong but so right… They are legendary on the boat and very stylish. Overall it was another successful day and friendships are growing stronger and stronger day by day. Tune in for more updates. This is Michael Ferreira. Over and Out. Shout out to Lady Jane for making this available to the parents and we hope that you can come join us out here in the Caribbean.
