Holy crab!

Finally, the world famous blue hole, what we have all been waiting for, is within our reach; but we will get there later. The day started just as usual, and I had the pleasure of waking everyone up, and we all know that waking up Cooper is a big accomplishment. Next, we had a delicious breakfast made by the wondrous Wanda and departed for the big blue hole, Nathalie was bursting with excitement, as she napped her way there. The blue hole was extremely awesome, a little bit smaller than we thought, but nonetheless, extremely awesome. Michael and Alejandro saw a few juvenile reef sharks. Me, Chelsea, and Victoria dared our way into the blue hole by floating above it, expecting for sea creatures to pull us down to the depths!

Our group then ventured to Half Moon Caye, were we went on a trail to find the red-footed boobies, which Sammie anticipated. The locals taught us how the invasive coconuts are, and how they threaten the boobies nesting grounds, as we then ate lunch and started our service. Sarah was caught hiding in the water enjoying the coolness and break from the heat of the sun. Me and Cooper were designated responsible for destroying a concrete wall, needless to say this was extremely fun. Galen and Robbie were the supreme leaders of de-rooting coconuts.

Our day wound down back to Blackbird Caye, on the way, Eric saw a whale. We all prepared ourselves with research equipment, only to realize it was just a huge log, Mia could not stop laughing. As we arrived, Alejandro, Galen, and Mia volunteered to embark on the next saltwater crocodile expedition. Katherine gave the remainder of us a lecture on the oceanic society, then we had a wonderful dinner full of laughs as we attempted to re-introduce our traditional rituals in ridiculous ways. Now the day has come to an end and I have to find a way to finish off this “what’s up”, because I'm tired and want to go to bed, so that’s all folks.
