Honduras Leadership Adventure

Map

An 8000 foot jagged peak in northern Honduras’ Pico Bonito National Park overlooks a jungle filled with white-faced capuchin monkeys, jaguars and elusive ocelots. Sound like Belize? It isn’t. The park is located in La Ceiba, Honduras’ third largest city and a gateway to the unspoiled beauty and rugged adventure that surrounds it. There’s so much to see and discover. First and foremost, the Class III, IV and V rapids of the Cangrejal.

Rumor has it that Blackbeard sailed the turquoise blue waters that surround the bay island of Utila. They say Robinson Crusoe himself slept on the island, too. Well, once people get wind of what you accomplish on Utila’s 60 dive sites and the PADI dive certifications you earn here, your name is destined to join its list of legendary visitors. Located in the north, on the Caribbean side, Utila is the smallest and most paradisiacal of all of Honduras’ bay islands.

“What we did was so fantastic and unbelievable. I can’t imagine a better summer, no matter what the program.” — Reza Cockrell, Hong Kong, China

Then there’s Copan — a significant and important site for Mayan ruins, nestled in the western highlands. Marvel at the stairways, temples, and monuments that have been here since the Mayans mysteriously died out in the 10th century. Copan is the “Athens of the New World.”
