The capital of Queensland may be the perfect jumping off point, but it’s also a bumping multi-cultural city with a quintessential Aussie attitude.
Cairns
Drop the “r” sound and pronounce it like a true Aussie. This tropical town on the Far North Queensland coast is the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef.
Cape Tribulation
Or “Cape Trib”, as the locals call it. Here, the rainforest runs right up into the ocean.
