Mexico Oaxaca Spanish Immersion

Beginning ceramics

COURSE DESCRIPTION

A three-week language immersion course designed so students will achieve a conversational level of Spanish in addition to an exposure and appreciation of the Oaxacan and Mexican culture. Students will experience different aspects of Oaxaca by hiking to and staying in Zapotec communities, living in a home stay while attending language school in Oaxaca City, and finally working with children from the Monte Alban community. During their 10 days of intensive language instruction, students will participate in hands-on workshops (cooking class, conversation class, indigenous ceramic class) in the morning and then three hours of formal language instruction in the afternoon.
