in part by our approach to service. Our work is well thought out, effective and meaningful, providing maximum benefits to both our students and the dynamic communities we aid. We partner with globally recognized organizations such as REEF, the Caribbean Conservation Corporation, orphanages and Peace Corps volunteers to work on important ongoing endeavors. In addition to making a real contribution to the communities we visit, volunteering provides rich opportunities for learning, personal growth, leadership development and cultural understanding. Students consistently tell us that the service work was the most rewarding part of their trip, offering them remarkable perspectives on other people and places, as well as their role in the world. We incorporate 10-55 hours of service into each program, because we believe that working with and for others is an indispensible part of shaping young individuals into socially responsible adults.

Our leaders are the best you’ll find… One of Broadreach’s core strengths.

They are experiential educators and experts in their field from PhD’s to professional scuba instructors, Royal Yacht Masters and wilderness professionals. Each has a dedication to educational travel and a passion to lead, mentor and offer teens valuable insights into the world around them.

Meet Dora:
Dora first worked with Broadreach in 2007, pioneering our first ever Adventure Peru program. She soon after joined our year-round team in Raleigh and has since lead our Immersion Costa Rica and Nicaragua program. Dora holds degrees in Spanish and Mathematics from UNC-Chapel Hill. During her time at Carolina, she spent a year living in Spain and working with teens as a guide in the Sierra Nevada of California. Dora also holds a Master’s degree in International Studies with a special interest in Latin America, and has traveled extensively worldwide. Dora was born in Szeged, Hungary and grew up in North Carolina where, surrounded by the mountains and sea, she cultivated her love for the outdoors. When not at Broadreach she can be found hiking and biking on trails with her dog, snowboarding, skateboarding and salsa dancing!
