At the outset of each Broadreach adventure there are new faces, expectations and unknowns. You may even be a little nervous. But soon faces become friends, expectations become experiences and unknowns become adventures. Unlike traditionally structured summer camps where every activity is scheduled, Broadreach programs are flexible and involve you in all aspects of the experience. You are asked to take an active role and few things are done for you. You share in the responsibility for your own well being and the well being of others on the program.

You make things happen. We are program leaders, not tour guides or "camp counselors." You are not considered "campers." Instead, every member is an important part of the group and the journey. Trips are hands-on and tons of fun, adapting to the individuality of each participant. You can enjoy the group and be yourself at the same time. Your effort and determination lead directly to success, to knowing you've accomplished a difficult task and achieved your goals. Participation, cooperation, responsibility and leadership help the entire group grow and achieve.

Every day and every trip is unique. On the live-aboard sail voyages, skipper the yacht, chart the course and feel the freedom of life aboard a sail boat. Raft Costa Rica’s emerald rivers, surf Panama’s perfect breaks and end the day relaxing around an evening campfire. After countless dives on the Red Sea’s breathtaking reefs, dry out on desert safari. Days are full, packed with exploration and challenge. But within every adventure there is time to be by yourself. Stretch out in the warm afternoon sun. Catch up in your journal. Watch the sunset.

Some days start before the sun rises. There are times your muscles may be sore from hiking switchbacks, sea kayaking or setting sails. Occasionally, we eat a late dinner or go several days without a hot shower. Days can be long and hard, yet rewarding.
